Yes Urs. It has, all 3 osc are in different octave. Sorry, didn't know that you cannot do that. About your samples, suse1 sounds good, but suse2, which is real jp, just sound better. Suse1 would need more lowmid-mid freq or something. But nice job :) you getting closer. Keep it up!

Rar file contains mp3 on fully dry sound. No filtering. There is also that midi file. Sylenth 1 with 3 osc. :P
Well, this goes to show that your example doesn't sound like a JP8000 at all (did you tune one of the oscillators an octave up maybe?)

Here's my take:

Example 1
Example 2

One of these is the original JP8000 Supersaw. This can not be achieved by stacking ordinary sawtooth waveforms.
Hmm.. Example 2 has a weird phasey element to the attack of each note.. almost like a retrigger.. Example 1 does not seem to have this.. not sure which is which but I prefer Example 1.

so, the JP synth is digital..
what's the sampling rate?
It doesn't matter how it sounds..
..as long as it has BASS and it's LOUD!

Well, I could, but I would need to add more modules to my development synth. However the JP can't.

In both examples a real JP is played in turn with a fake JP. You always hear 1 note real, 1 note fake, 1 note real, one note fake, for each out of 6 octaves.

Then, I think the chords are always 1x fake JP then 1 x real JP.

So, to be precise, the fake JP is in Suse1 and in Suse2, and the real JP is in there, too.

if I'm writing a text and accidentally delete it is it stored in a log somewhere?

I do not wish to challenge a synth genius like yourself but that is a bold statement :)

Urs wrote:The very distinct shape of the JP8000's Supersaw can easily be identified in a scope. It not only sounds different, it also looks different from all other Supersaw implementations I came across.
That wont be the case for too long:
a) is original supersaw
b) is mine
c) is layered for comparison and I shifted them a bit otherwise they will cover each other.

Hi Adam

You're supersaw sounds good. Is that from which synth? :P

Sheesh, ok, I'll try to overlay mine at some point. Yet I don't believe that the JP uses ordinary sawtooths ;)

IMO you nailed it Urs but there is strange loop going on in Suse2 on 0:25 in second note.Well it exist in first too but its not so audible for me.It sounds like saws in JP are traveling slower than in your soft emu.

we've been over this BS about "super-supersaws". it's a 12db highpass filter with some resonance. big deal.

For the "little detune" example, I'm thinking I like the sound of Pass 2, definitely sounds better on the low notes, less flangy, crisper sound.

-Please expiriment with oscillator drift speed and amount when the time comes. JP8000 probably didn't have this feature, but it's what makes heavy detuning sound right.

-This is why I will say that the "quite detuned" example, both passes sounded horrible to my ears. No oscillator drift.

-With heavy detuning, take note that the bass notes sound good and as you get higher in pitch it sounds worse and worse. Another feature to add would be keyboard-tracking detuning.

kyetrack detune sounds cool, i like the idea
