Bülent did a really really great job with the new version and I don't want to cut this really great work. He improved the sound quality of Synthmaster about 5000% compared to 2.0 and turned this synth into a monster...
Additionally he is the most responsitive developer I've ever seen... I think he really implemented everything, which was requested in the next few days.

So from me big respect here too.

This thread here is only meant to make this monster even better... I've a lot alternatives here, but I want to use this thingy... I believe you with ease, that this issue is only a matter of little time, I just want to be sure, we are talking about the same thing here...that's why I defend my position this intensely here.
Absolutely agree. Our goal is to maximize quality. Have so far been made the experimental sounds with Sm. But now we must serve the real needs of trendy or electronic music.

This is an example of what can be done current state of synthmaster:

SM's the most important 3 issue: Cutting edge gui, Soft voicing (non-mechanical) and non-slip pitch (cross point) symmetric detunation. I'm doing it now with high-period LFO. Of course, we will soon be the normal techniques. Thanks mate.

For "unison" I use equal spaced detuning, meaning:

You have 5 "voices" for instance for an osc, so their tunes become (p being reference pitch):

P-2d, p-d, p, p+d, p+2d

Maybe I should change that. But as Ingo pointed out, using "Additive" mode is way more flexible in achieving a better Super/HyperSaw (whatever you call it :D)

I can clearly hear the "beating" Trancit mentioned, so yes I need to do something about it. I can just start comparing it side by side with Synth!

But, first I need to finish user manual + web site work. Those are higher priority right now..

Well, i think its not fair to compare Nexus sampled waveforms, which were multilayered and compressed, with SM or any other synth.

As you already said, its a matter of taste, the Roland SuperSAW is the original and i personally think, its the one and only SuperSAW, the others are ok, but not the original and even Synthmasters SuperSAW is ok, too.

Ok, I don't have a clue about the technical things you're talking about, but listening to your sound example shows me, that you understood, what I mean or you have the same taste 8) ...that's already good work, I would like to see the presets, how you did it...

I know, it's not that fair, it should only represent the density and the sparkling in the sound without that current strong flanging, which Synthmaster current does (well not so strong in Insignias demo)...

But....the second example from Adam is not preprocessed... It reaches about (for me) 98% of what I like from the Nexus preset and the JP6K is praised as to be very close to the original, so the example is there, now it's up to the genius to figure out, what has to change... :hihi:

I guess you mean Synth1...please compare it first to the JP6K, which has really a brilliant Supersaw... only weakness of this thingy for me personally is the lack of (user editable) pan spreading...

If you use the Additive oscillator with up to 8 detuned Saws (all harmonics at 1) you could also set the Pan for each Saw (or other waveform...). If you use a second additive oscillator it's even fatter and using the additive OSCs uses less CPU than using an Unison.
While working with my Virus TI multisamples in Synthmaster 2.5 i found it'S nice to use a combination of a LP and a HP filter in series. The EQ could help too for adding some high frequencies. AFAIK the Roland Supersaw is based on some internal Highpass filtering before it enters the "normal" filter.

There is one preset in SM, can't remember exactly what it's called (I am at work now..) but it sounds pretty good for that big saw sound. Called 64Saws or something like that. :)

I did a soundcloud demo of the features of the JP-8000 oscillators earlier today. Here's a link if anyone's interested.

http://soundcloud.com/sendysynthdemos/j ... lator-tour

The supersaw oscillator starts at 5:44, and I spent quite a while tweaking it in a musical context, whilst playing and exploring it's sound.

Notice this sound is the dry JP oscillator, with no chorus/FX and oscillator 2 turned off. It can get thicker than that if you enable these things.
