great link.

this is exactly what we were looking for :)
just an FYI, I been hunting FREEWARE music stuff for the last couple of years and that BEDROOM PRODUCER BLOG has THE BEST LISTINGS of freeware compiled and tested in one place anywhere on the net that I can find. I have personally tested, used, tried, almost all the stuff his has listed, and it IS the best freeware out there. Minus a few little things here and there.
Ok, I didn't actually test all those HOSTS, but I've seen about half of them.
But the VST listings of FREE stuff are great. Top of the pack I feel.

Here is the top of the freeware list if it helps. Wish there were more direct links but you just have to scroll down and look at OLDER posts to see the various sections

true, but in this case, the person has said they have money left over each month for his hobby

technically against the forum rules :)

i think it's sort of a silly rule but honestly with the number of people reading kvr and the age that threads can get to, posting any links or instructions or so on regarding warez could eventually be helping someone to gain access. so in that way it's only promoting the possibility of that happening to post the actual link.

big tick; i definitely would have believed you.

it's in fact so common that i'd have to say a majority of commercial software "borrows" at least some small part from somewhere against the license. you just don't know about it because it's closed source.

if it makes you angry when someone is selling warez, it should be even worse when someone has an illegitimate business selling it. then far, far worse when someone has a business that appears legitimate selling it.

You can get Reaper really cheap and it is great.

That link is now dead. Not sure what was there.

I will try Realband / Powertracks Pro with Jamstix and see what happens.

[EDIT] I am afraid you are correct. The PGMusic stuff is good for auto accompaniment but forget using your own synths with it - just too buggy and unstable to be of any use.

Hardware sync does work flawlessly however.

Well, the thing that was relevant to this discussion, is that he says all sales go to help a homeless family he knows. So in his way, he's running a charity...
In the same way a person can stick a gun in someone's face and demand their money.. 'it is going to the shelter'

Does he expect this to make it OK to stick a gun in someone's face and steal their property? :o

In other news.. I see we have at least 4 different conversations ongoing at the same time in this thread

You're joking right? Because, if not, we discussed this earlier. TTOZ twitches when someone mentions the R-e-a-p-e-r software.

avoid mentioning it at all costs! :hihi:

My point was to illustrate that there is a lot of work to do in order to fix the perception about cracked software, which is why it is relevant to ttoz' initial topic.

I was agreeing with you. :)

i was nothing but honest when i said i have 80 left over. and sometimes i have less then then that. like when mom has no gas money, thats like 20 gone, and i had to give up my 20 dollar holiday money for gas too. or last month i had to give 38 usd for rent. yeah im not poor. but im still well below the poverty line.

You are talking to a well known REAPER hateboy, it's impossible to convince him how easy and intuitive it is to use once he spends few minutes reading the manual...

Even if you have 20 at the end of the month, you can save that. In 6 months you have 120! at the end of the year it has doubled to 240!

I'm not below the poverty line anymore, but I still manage money in the same way. Buy smart, avoid impulse spending, trial software (Legally!), and save. I wait months.. sometimes year(s) on certain purchases. Never buy at retail price when possible.... buy used or during sales/group buys. Haggle when possible too.

This extends into every day money management. Most wealthy aren't CEOs or Professional Athletes... there are many rich who drive older cars, visit the second-hand stores, and are generally conservative with their finances. If you spend it, it is gone. Spend wisely.

If you save what little you have and shop smart you can amaze yourself. Sure, you won't have everything your heart desires, but you'll at least have some of it... and will probably value it more since you worked hard to get it.

There... I said it. phew.

However, I still agree with donating out of general generosity.. we all can give here and there. I don't think we're going to change the world or are even aiming to change the world's perception on software theft. But, instead, look to brighten a little part of the world around kvr and expand some potentials of some people with their music. And that is cool too.

Sorry for being personal, but are you unable to get a job (due to disability, say) or are there other circumstances which do not allow you or your family to work? Namely, why must you live off the government?
