D-50 V-Card for V-Synth could count as an emulation/recreation?
The plugins for DSP cards were already at the limit but an expansion for a hardware synths would be too far for sure.
For the price of such expansion you usually get a real D-50 i guess.

I also thought about the Jupiter 8 for the Roland VariOS or the Jupiter 8 for Arturia Origin but did not add those too.

Maybe i could add another "chapter" (besides synths, drum machines and FXs) for that.

UPDATE:
added a new "PLUGINS/ADD-ONS for HARDWARE SYNTHS" section below the "EFFECTS" section.

I think the card costs around $100-150

So it is the same price range as a VST instrument.

The V-Synth is of course needed, and will costs a lot more (but one also needs a PC / MAC to run VST/AU instruments).

Why would it get mentioned in a thread about Roland emulations? :hihi:

Great work here!!!! I personally love the Roland sound (for the most part), and I'm really glad you have added all of this to a very usable list! :-) I like where you have added free actual sample packs of classic Roland sounds. :-) It's very useful for me (for multisampling), since I've been moving more and more to the iPad, and aside from Sunrizer (which I really like), there isn't as much classic emulation on the iPad. :-)

Many thanks for your kind words. Since i owned some real Roland synths in the past (but not at the moment...) the sound of those, especially from the analog synths and some of their emulations, has really inspired me me.

Hi,

First of all, thanks very much for your effort with this list. Great job!!!
I would just like to make two suggestions:

You mention my pg-8x as possible JX-10 emulation. Well, if you use the JX-10 in single-voice mode, it basically turns into a 12 voice JX-8P, but in its other modes, it is quite beyond the JX-8P. Although some of these sounds can be emulated by layering two instances of the pg-8x, I personally would not claim that the pg-8x is a JX-10 emulation. However, I am planning to work on an extension...

The other suggestion is to indicate which of the plugins is free-ware (or donation-ware) and which are commercial.

Thanks again for putting up this list.

Hi Martin,

many thank for your plugin and also for the tips. :)
Removed the plugin from the JX-10 entry.

I have just created an audio demo mostly based on plugins from the list which are TAL U-NO-LX (= Juno-60), D16 Phoscyon (= TB-303), Arturia Jupiter 8V, TAL BassLine (= SH-101), D16 Drumazon (= TR-909), ERS Dimension D Chorus and GSI GS-201 Tape Echo (= Space Echo) .
The track was recorded in realtime using two keyboard controllers so no overdub.

Additionally to the plugins mentioned above the Stillwell Audio Bombardier Buss Compressor and the Stillwell Audio VibeEQ equalizer were used.

The pad sound from the Jupiter 8V ("Mellow Strings" reprogrammed from the original Jupiter 8 factory sounds) could be heard in the second half.

Have fun,

I wouldn't say the ABL Pro was a TB-303 emulation. It was more going for an SH-101 or more accurately an MC-202 kinda feel. And does it quite well.
