FM/PM seems to appear on many top 3 wishlists. Why do you want that so much? I mean there are many VSTIs that do that so in fact it's easily usable already in MuLab/MUX, right? So why do you guys put that in your top 3? Aren't there other more workflow-related wishes that are more important for you and which are not solvable using a 3rd party tool?

Pls don't interprete my question as me being rejective against FM/PM, certainly not, it's just for proper analysis of what's needed most.
+1...

What is by far less crowded is the granular sector...

From the view of newer products, Padshop is miles ahead of the other available options, to create really dense pads and atmos...
I tested Alchemy (no, no, no), Absynth (no, no, no,no) many Reaktor ensembles (the most have such a bad GUI, that I didn't manage to get a sound out of them), Granite (not bad, but more for experimantal stuff) and I do have Grain (for me, the closest to Padshop and Ableton/M4L Granulator, but it perhaps reaches 40-50% of the 2 "major ones"...
So far, Padshop is the only "native" instrument covering this sector very well, but Syncrosoft????

- MUX VST only: Ability to drag n drop midi files into the Sequence Player and perhaps drag n drop of sequences into the arrangement of the used host would be my number one!!!!

- MUX reports "outgoing latency" to the host!!!

In general:

- PDC (this is by far my biggest wish to MuLab)

- my second wish (perhaps more important than PDC for me):
Ghost events... able to see notes of another selected sequence in the same editor
(without having the ability to edit them... just want to see them... for me, a great help to work on a melody to fit a chord structure... I am no musician, so this would be a big help!!!)

- Multiselection of Modules with functions of: moving, copying (without cables) and deleting...

Trancit, thanks for your wishlist! Please lets limit wishlists to a top 3 otherwise things get chaotic and then this topic is missing its goal. So please repost a brief top 3 of your own wishlist. Thanks.

Ok, edited...but MUX VST and Mulab is still different, sorry :-)

I would like to have the ability to record from several midi sources at once.
For example; My midi interface have 8 in and 8 out.
Several of my keyboards and synths and other stuff is fixed at Midichannel 1.
If i want to use for example three or four keyboards or midi sources at once i want to assign "Midi in 1" to rack one, "Midi in 2" to rack two, "Midi in 3" to rack three... ETC.
When i press record it would record everything that comes from those midisources to separate tracks.
I would really like this midi input assigning thingy more the standard event input. :)

Well as you might have noticed by now, english is not my native language so if anything is unclear with my wishes just let me know and i will try to explain them better.

Regards

Why so many noes? They're both extremely capable synthesizers, and they both approach granular synthesis from a different perspective, which is perfectly feasible - and they both sound splendid in their own way. So, why all the hate?

I want PM/FM in the MUX because the MUX is already VERY powerful. If you add those different synthesis "types" then is becomes an absolute monster (In a good way). I've been waiting got u-he Bazzile to com eout so I can have a modular FM synth with lots of capability. If MUX were to have that power, I don't think I'd ever need another synth again (may be an exaggeration but I think you get the point).

Here are my top 3 FRs:

1. Event editor: configurable grid for "Value 1" (atm editing pitch bend values is horror)

2. Virt. keyboard: customizable key mapping for every key of at least 2 octaves

3. A new note velocity modifier module (relative), controllable by e.g. random modulation (for humanization), similar to the "Event Delay" (which is excellent!).

There is also an immanent NFR:
Furthermore good performance also on weak netbook hardware (display resolution, cpu).
MuLab 5.2 works still fine on my 3 years old netbook. I really appreciate that.

I'm using MUX and pondering on getting Mulab as alternative DAW...
1. Plugins' like TH2 or Aalto to display dropdown menu lists in GUI, even is they are not coded properly, currently they are not really usable.
2. Audio feedback loop - that would be nice, yeah.

About FM/PD, sure there are other plugins that could be used to get FM sounds, but it would be nice to have as many creative functionality as possible within the MUX itself, not needing to reach for external plugins.

Besides, it would be cool to be able to modulate the FM amount with LFO's, envelopes, sequencers, etc. within the MUX :)

One could build a new factory device FM synth and call it MUFM or FMUX 8)
No band limits, aliasing is the noise of freedom!

Just to state another point of view: I am absolutely NOT interested in FM/PM functionality, 'cause I prefer sounds of natural instruments (which MuLab also provides or enables). Sorry, guys.

I'm sure I've mentioned this before, but it bears repeating... This has been indicated as a plugin issue, but it seems to work in some hosts, not in MuLab which leads me to believe it's a MuLab problem or a OSX problem...

Mouse Scrolling of presets in the GUI of plugins. Really important for plugs with !,000 presets. Oddly some instruments work fine, but the ones with the most presets don't. Hmmm

1. Snap marker in audio clips
2. meter and on/off switch for the MUX GUI
3. if everyone want fm osc, i go for osc sync and/or wavetable

DHR & Andreas, please limit yourself to a top 3 wishlist because this is about a userbase check wrt a short term update. It does not make sense at all to post more than 3 at this moment. I'll even not be able to implement all top 3s cause i want to release a new update before Newyear. I'll be happy to repeat this kind of polls lateron again, so we all go step by step, that's more relaxed and to the point. Thanks.
