I strongly contradict! I guess you write code more time of the day than producing music and songs? Daily DAW work is heavily relying on preset management. I HAVE to know the preset I am using. Not knowing the preset has always been one weak part of the Melda plugs. Just saying that Melda is different from anything is really a bad excuse.
I mean, other plugs dont show the names just for fun. It has evolved as best practice.

And you contradict yourself if you defend some text as needed for clarity and you dismiss other important text for the sake of space saving. Or at least you have a very special opinion on what's important text and what not. I say the preset name is a million times more important than "bypass" or "settings".

There could be a collapsible pannel below the title, that would show it, but there is NO other place.
Hm I can't imagine how that would look like.

I mean, why not use the space between plugin name and preset button? You could shorten the names to a max size in case of a narrow window? That's how other plugs do it. No plug displays a 255 charakter preset name in full :-)

What about making a poll, CableChannel? Then Vojtech sees if it's important for his users to have the preset name displayed!

Or maybe a pop-up screen/field when you move mouse over ABC... buttons?

Would make a reverb set-up easier when you could easily later in mixing compare again your previous choices and continue tweaking or re-load the original reverb preset on other ABC bank for comparison.

I think this has a lot to do with different work methods and you can see it other things too.
Engineer design something to be used in a certain way but then lazy customers doesn't read the manual and come up with a different way to use the same product. Sometimes it is worst, equal, better or just new.

Like this my method to use ABC banks in MAnalyzer to quickly have different setting to different situations. Vojtech drop those out of the new 8 version thinking they were useless but I had found use for them and it has become a part of my work methods.

I have not even thanked so let's do it now: Thank your bringing ABC... back to MAnalyzer :tu:

Vojtech, it's like you have a project, with the MDynamicEQ or MLimiter. You have a couple of presets which sound good and have this or that character. Now you open a project and you would like to know, which preset is active here, it sounds good? You want to know the name.
Look at any other plugin in the world, they all display the preset name.

Yeah, maybe a poll is a good idea. Vojtech, should I start a poll just asking if users want to see the preset name or not? Or would you even provide a mockup of the collapsible line, so users can actually see how it would look like?

Look, the icons are placed pretty wide, just by placing the icons a bit more dense I freed space for the preset name. Maybe that's also a way to go? You could truncate the preset name if the window is too small and display it fully if the window is big enough?

Or that collapsible line is the best idea? So everybody can choose if they want to "waste" space for the preset name or not?

Hi, I would agree with the names of presets displayed on the plugin. You have the version number of the plugin displayed which is really not needed, and a presets tab, why does this not have the preset name rather than just "presets"?

I agree with dark-i's suggestions!

OK so I have seen quite a bunch of opinions. Please vote here:
