Valhalla reverbs for me. I do like Redline Reverbs Abbey Piano Hall on pianos though.
The Acon reverb sounds nice from the demos I've heard but I've not tried it yet.

If I had to choose one, Valhalla Vintage Verb. Absoulutely the best $50 I've ever spent. There are 6 new algorithms coming and it already sounds fantastic. Top 3 for me would be ValhallaVintage, Lexicon PCM and 2caudio B2*.
*Fantastic reverb, but don't buy it if you don't have a monsterously strong machine.

vintage verb, imo, is the best reverb plugin. i prefer this plugin over 2cs for its sound. ymmv. also, vintage verb just got 6 new reverb algos. mind blown.

Definitely looking into themLotuzia wrote:Exponential Audio reverbs, or Lexicon.
I dont use Live and nowdays only seldom use convol reverbs so take this with a pinch of salt. But for those who crave the Lexiconish sound, EA reverbs are superb/ Just demo them and see by yourself if they fit your likes.

Today I'll put the Hofa up against open air. I kinda mucked around with that last night but I was a little buzzed
I've got the floors done, the cat is asleep, so time to demo (headbang!)

hibidy do you have Valhalla Vintage?
Hold tight for the new update if you haven't tried it yet. A bunch of new algos and they are all superb. I think its his best work yet. Really hardware sounding, IMO.

I might look back into it but for algo I'm pretty happy with my RC 24/48.
So far, it looks like people still dig VH the most. I looked into the melda for convo and I don't know if that will cover my needs (I wish, it's way cheaper)
There is something about the Hofa. It's so smooth and subtle, and it's really much better than open air that I like so much. The impulses are cleaner and the interface is grand. Still havent figured out how to save a setting (one thing at a time) but the presets are lovely. I'll have to look into the space setting more.
Time for more testing

All I can say is I have the VVV 1.5 beta right now and it's the most satisfying time I can remember with a plug-in reverb. I'm picky so that's saying a lot. I was jamming with an Irish flute, and now an oud. The warm sense of modulated space is really luxurious. I should probably shut up but it is an open beta (for owners).

If it really is regardless of price, you may want to look into Altiverb. It's in a class by itself, I think.

Although you won't go wrong with the HOFA, being one of the best convo verbs. Good luck!
Cheers,
Eddie
