Well, yes, of course these things are very subjective. The M-One just didn't do anything for me.Turello wrote:@rdnzl: The TC M-One don't sounds so bad imo (especially in Rock production) and also the Lexicon MX series... Don't know the DBX but (by Google images) seems interesting (and get best result than a lot of plugins)...
The DBX has a nice dark character instead of trying to be transparent. A buddy has one in his Live sound FOH FX rack and I got to try it in my big reverb shootout. Had to buy one for myself and finally found one for ~50EUR.

Yes they do. Nectar emulates EMT140. But that's a different sound...V0RT3X wrote:How about the Reverbs in Nectar? I think they have a EMT emulation in it.
I think Sean has said that he took some inspiration from the EMT250. It does have some similarity in character but it really is it's own thing.Echoes in the Attic wrote:Or sanctuary mode in vvv.
VVV is great but it doesn't do what EMpTy250 does and vice versa.
That SKNote 250 is intriguing ...

Hibidy, may I suggest that you look at the Toneboosters TB Reverb ?In my opinion, it is worth the price of the track essentials bundle alone (a mere 25 Euros)
I really like the reverb it is very sweet (and to my ears) natural sounding. It has low CPU overhead and is very stable in Studio One 2.6.2 x64.
I find that this along with Studio One Mixverb and Room Reverb covers all my reverb needs.
Give it a try:

Yes, true (I'd forgotten about that, sorry). But did you like the sound of the audio examples?hibidy wrote:There doesn't seem to be a demo?vic_france wrote: Have you tried SKNotes's version, the Rev250?.. http://www.sknote.it/Rev250.htm
I did get a life,once...but it was faulty, so I sent it back.

@rdnzl: Only 50 Euros? I hope to try soon (You wake up my curiosity!)
About the EMpTy250 I would say is one of the best plate...

SKNote's Rev250 is *very* metallic sounding. sometimes it's just the ticket, but more often than not i use IK CSR or VVV over Rev250.
I don't know what to write here that won't be censored, as I can only speak in profanity.

I don't want metallic sounding. The empty room one is gorgeous. Money averted for now though as it has an annoying little bug that I'll have to wait until fixed to buy.
UPDATE: for some reason, convolution pro is working now in live. This changes everything if that continues. Still, the empty room 250 and the hofa were the two I've tried that blew me away. Nothing against any of the others, but I already have the NI series and they are as good if not better IMHO than many tried.

I'll probably get the 250 by SKNote just to complete my little collection.
I've already said a few times how Verbtone is just the most incredible reverb in the world, ever. And Stagespace and Necklace are pretty groovy too.
The 250 seems to be his most popular, so it would be a shame to miss out on that.
They are heavy on the cpu and there is no demo, but so far I don't feel ripped off.
They are quite a counterpoint to the Valhalla 'verbs. I've recently got into the concept of 'freezing' tracks in my DAW for the first time ever, and it's a lot of fun loading these up on an insert and going for it.
I've noticed a lot of the Gearslutz like the 250, so check it out.

Empty 250 demo works on 32bit ?

The installer isn't really good. What it does in install the x64 .dll in program files(x86) under empty rooms. You have to move it.

If you like the Ableton M4L convolution reverb, but are concerned about instability, why not just load the IRs that come with it into reverberate or reflektor since you have those? Quality of the sound should be mainly the IRs, though the reverb may have very different sound sculpting features.hibidy wrote: UPDATE: for some reason, convolution pro is working now in live. By the way, I tried the Hofa, amazingly low cpu on that, I guess comparable to using only the reverb in one convolution engine in reverberate. But it's cool that it can stretch the samples many hundreds of percent, unlike many which can only change decay by +/- 50 or 100.
