SM57s have quite a drastic proximity effect and I can never get that from AT3. I say it all the time: Amplitube 3 in some ways sounds better than real amps, in that the amps need a lot less EQ in the mix than I've ever had to apply to real mic'd up amps. Whenever I've mic'd up an amp at home or in the studio, there's quite a bit of EQ'ing that ends up happening to get things into a happy place. AT3 has always sounded too polite, like it's been pre-EQ'd to sound good, which makes it less diverse in some ways. Anyway, that's just my opinion/experiences. I'm no expert.
A in that example sounded best to me because it sounded so raw.
