Hi all!

I'd like to inform you on our latest and newest release for Zebra², called Phobia and is our third commercial library! It follows the steps of Zebramatic II - Unleash the Dark Side of Zebra, and aims at dark cinematic scoring for film and video games. Phobos is a collection of 118 presets with many dark and evocative soundscapes, fx, swells and pads, bass, arps and sequences. The main focus-points of Phobia are the Oscillators and Comb filters. Comb filter is a powerful tool in Zebra² and can be used to alter the sound essentially; combining it with the XY performance controls, it offers you endless combinations to create your own unique sounds.

Alex,
Is there any little digital sample things in your phobia? Parts of it sound like a digitally sampled orchestra. Perhaps a little dark for my taste, but rather impressive nevertheless.

Hey Aaron!

What exactly do you mean? Some sounds that I've created indeed sounds like an orchestra (brass section and string-like) but all of the were created inside zebra. In all the audio demos in soundcloud you can see the patches that I and my fellow composers used.
And yes, Phobia was created for darker scoring but it all depends on what color you want to give to your composition. But for sure I think that you will not able to compose the "Melody of Happiness (Sound of Music)" with this specific soundset.

I'm not very familiar with it, but isn't there something in Zebra where you can put a bit of your own waveform (like a very short sample) in Zebra and then make a patch with it?

Yes, there is a thing called Wav2Zebra but I haven't tried it out yet on any of the presets I created. I was wanted (and still do) to do a new soundset with custom wavetables using this software, and most probably will do it in the near future.

But just to say it, there is no custom wavetables on any preset inside Phobia. Most of them are saw wave or just a simple table with a saw-like wave.

Those of you who would like to try some presets from Phobia, you can go to our Inspire page and download for free 21 presets (16 from Phobia, plus 5 new sounds). I have also included an audio file, which you can listen to it, or directly from the soundcloud account.
