The original plugin is from 2001...morelia wrote:Very cool and unexpected addition to Tracktion. Thnks to whoever made it possible. I REALLY need a plug like this. I never heard of the developer. Are they new?

Well, that explains it...
Still, I don't care, if it sounds somewhere in the league og WaveArts plug-ins, its a real money-saver!
Any other experiences in comparing this with maybe WaveArts stuff, Ozone, or simmilar?

Agreed AD80...Final mix is prefectly suited for music production. I have Ozone and the 6 band parametric Eq and 3 band compression in Final Mix is at least comparable to the 8 band parametric + paragraphic Eq, and four band Compressor in Ozone.AD80 wrote:I dont know what the hell you guys are talking about. It sounds good to me. It probably cant beat a combination of CurveEQ, C4, and L2, but it sounds really good to my ears.
I think Final Mix is a very good plug.

Yep sounds good to me. I'll definately use it. Still I have been listening to loud distorted guitars for about 15 years and my current monitors are below average at best.

it sounds nice. I only found the meters a bit bad. I am hearing digital distortion before the meters are in the red. so you must use good monitors and good ears.
I still hope two small bugs will be solved one day:
- rendering loops are not of the right length
- Absynth patches can't be edited from Tracktion since it crashes when trying to open the edit-mode
but man... Tracktion is for powerful and simple to use. My fav!

Boy, what a surprise! I wasn't notified by email but I check every so often. I found it on August 12, 2004.
I checked the Forum for comments before I downloaded.
It is a beautiful piece of software. I went through the presets and all I can say is wow.
Thank you Mackie

Thanks. Re-assured me wrt v2 and Live etc.
You could even had a bit of razzamataz over this - not out of place at all - wasn't NAMM a couple of weeks ago?

I don't like multiband compression for mastering anymore. Just a nice compressor with a sidechain/high pass filter, and with fairly moderate settings. I think it's something of a myth that multiband compression generally improves sound quality.

but you surely realized that you can use it as a single-band comp as well?chagzuki wrote:I don't like multiband compression for mastering anymore. mbc is one of those things that I tend to think is a fix to a problem that should have been fixed in the mix, but it can be a life saver on badly recorded material, loops that have already been misprocessed, or just massively atering the sound of a particular instrument.chagzuki wrote:I don't like multiband compression for mastering anymore. This morning was my first chance to listen to FM, and since I'm in the process of redecorating my studio space, I can't really hear well what it sounds like, but the impression I got was positive.

You don't use those pounding-oomph-909-that-moves-your-guts-and-make-severe-pumping-effect-if-compressed-only-with-a-singleband-compressor-on-the-final-mix-kicks much do you?chagzuki wrote:I don't like multiband compression for mastering anymore.
