I'm using most of the time Meldaproduction plugins, free for lifetime is great and there are some new guis planned.

.. well, as I paid for the very first Barricade I have no way to upgrade. 30 euros ain't bad at all but I'm not entirely sure I need this puppy.
Having said that, I'm really liking the compressor that comes with it.. and you know me and compressors.

pretty sure the somewhat arbitrary 'purchased after jan 2015' limitation on the 1/2 price upgrade is related to when he went to using avangate for handling purchases - none of my ealier TB purchases (including barricade) went via them.bmanic wrote:.. well, as I paid for the very first Barricade I have no way to upgrade.
Suspect Jeroen is trying to avoid having to manually process upgrades for 'legacy' customers

I love Barricade v3 and it's my go-to stereo limiter, but I would kill to get a multichannel update and would be happy paying more than 30Eur for it too!

Thanks everyone for the feedback!
Yes the upgrade policy on Barricade is suboptimal. There is unfortunately no automated way to check earlier licenses (ones purchased prior to Jan 1st, 2015) when we were forced to go with resellers due to EU regulations on online software sales (which, to be honest, are quite a pain for small developers).
On the key file vs activation code: yes, I can see that many of you have no issue with copying and pasting a key file, but nevertheless the amount of support required for those who had difficulties with this was getting a bit too much. With the current system, which will create a key file itself using the activation code, it should all be easier and allowing for more time to develop cool new stuff!
Speaking of new stuff, and the request for a Barricade update that supports multi-channel audio: V4 should be able to limit anything from mono up to 5.1 (VST3 or AU version recommended).

Thanks for getting involved, Jeroen.
Hm... so that's a leftover from Engine 3's EBU Loudness "surround channel recognition"... nice.
I should definitely check the most recent demos before I upgrade. One thing that always annoyed me, was the setup of the headroom of Barricade to really get a -1dBTP ceiling limit. But to me, nothing came even close to the transparency of this particular limiter.
So glad to see UI overhauls for bigger screen resolutions.

Ok, please check the upgrade policy on the Toneboosters site. We've added an option for those who purchased Barricade v3 prior to Jan 1st, 2015.
If you purchased Barricade v4 already without discount, and you would have qualified for an upgrade but did not get one, let us know ASAP.

In fact, I purchaded barricade via avangate, so it may not be my concern, but this news should be salvation for many 'legacy' users!!

Awesome!, would have bought it anyway. Still, much appreciated. Yet another reason

I only just bought Barricade 3 last year so I really appreciated the upgrade discount, thank you ToneBoosters
I haven't had a chance to really test it but initial impressions are that this thing goes crazy loud without artifacts (no surprises given the Barricade pedigree). Compression built-in is perfect too - makes we wonder why more plugins don't combine them.
Oh and I LOVE the GUI - my fav colour scheme is probably 'Midnight Blues'.

Critical guys!
I happily paid the 15 bucks for upgrading because Barricade is my favorite limiter, reliable, high quality and easy to use.
Look at other devs with their subscription models and all these other money grabbing strategies: they demand far more than this 15 bucks from time to time. So what?

Just tried the new version, and it obviously distorts less.
However, i can not upgrade without a "monitor" switch (like in V3)
.
Or is it there and i SRTFM ?
?
Cheers!

Does that mean it can go louder? I bought AOM Invisible to achieve a similar transparent sound but with the ability to go louder before distortion. A bit of a 'general' question because it depends on the material of course..dasdeck wrote:Just tried the new version, and it obviously distorts less.
