Arturia V Collection 6

Okay, I just checked out the V6 Collection. Owning V5 and looking at what's been added since, for $200 it makes absolutely no sense for me to upgrade for a few extra synths. When I went from V4 to V5 it made sense. One, it was 2 years. Two, the GUIs, which were unusable in V4 were greatly improved. In fact, I couldn't wait for V5.
But there just isn't enough new, for me, to spend $200. So I'll wait for V7 and upgrade then.

I agree with Simmo75. $200 for people who own V5, when first time buyers can get it now for $249 is insane.egbert101 wrote:Arturia V Collection updated from V Collection 5 to V Collection 6. - DX7 V (Yamaha DX7 Emulation)
- CMI V (Fairlight CMI Emulation)
- Buchla Easel V (Buchla Music Easel Emulation)
- Clavinet V (Hohner Clavinet Electric Piano Emulation)
Passing on this is a no brainer.

I mean if you take the total number of instruments (21) and divide it into the total cost $499, it comes out to about $24 per instrument. If you multiply that by the 4 new instruments, it's not even $100.egbert101 wrote:Yeah, most of us are saying the upgrade is too steep, but they normally reduce it to $99 after a year. However, would like to get my hands on the DX7 V and CMI V to be honest.wagtunes wrote:Okay, I just checked out the V6 Collection. A monkey could figure out that the upgrade price is ridiculous.
And I love the V collection. I don't even care that they don't sound exactly like the hardware. I think they did an excellent job on everything, especially the Synclavier, Prophet VS (underrated synth), ARP 2600 and Modular. And the Matrix 12 is no slouch either.
But really, $200?
Forget it.

Will you be making this fairer to people that have more of your products or will we be penalized?
Well - I'm sure they want to get people into the full V Collection loop.
I do think that consecutive versions should be given a little price break though (3 to 4; 4 to 5; 5 to 6, etc.)
That thinking might be partly due to the fact that I got V5 sometime in the last year (pretty sure).
For me, to go from 5 to 6 is $199.
I'll be getting the new collection for sure. Some tasty stuff in there.
I'll have to hold off a bit though. I just got Steinberg's Absolute collection.
Haven't really even dug into it deeply yet.
Arturia's V collection, Steinberg's Absolute, and a few things from NI, are all that really interests me for soft gear.

Thanks Kevin. That's reasonable. Congratulations on the release. - Scotty

If you are using VC4 you will have to use the preset converter we developed for the VC5.
Yes there is a grace period.
For those who bought through retail at 249Eur/$ recently: they will be entitled to purchase the upgrade for 150€/$ (= 399 - 249)
For those who bought on http://www.arturia.com at full price: we will offer the upgrade for free.

v6 is in a class of it's own (not only because it's not sample based but a real PM virtual - it just sound amazing now and they keep working on their algos).(although someone said not as good as Pianoteq).
Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours.

LOL. Literally just bought V5 yesterday at $249 and remember thinking a new version must be on the way if it's selling half off. Can't fathom forking over 200 more for 4 more synths...so I'm not too pissed about it.

If you have to ask, you can't afford the answer

If I'm not mistaken, that's only if you bought it full price direct from Arturia.SJ_Digriz wrote:If you look on an earlier post, you can send an email requesting grace period upgrade.budsticky wrote:LOL.
