√ The A-Lab3 gives V5 usurers a free non timed access to a few patches. (Very Nice IMO)
Upgrade a bit upscale however not forcing a subscription on users is big for me.
The Buchla sounds great and the DX--well I don't miss the noise and it's nice and warm.
I callout a well done Arturia.

Exactly my opinion!kiezum wrote:Aalto is brilliant. The sound is excellent. It has a waveguide module. And the 'patchbay' is really user friendly. Over the years it's been optimised.
Kaivo is just as good with granular and physical modelling modules.

I wonder if anyone there even noticed about the little drama here on KVR.jsp1979 wrote:Due to complaints about the pricing, they are taking their emulations and going home.

As this is an Arturia thread, I think this is relevant. Even though it's not a "new" part of the V6 collection, it is a part of it and it's a part that I've personally not liked very much.
Until now.
And my revelation is going to answer a lot of questions that people had in another thread when I left them hanging. But I do feel I owe this explanation.
The synth I'm talking about is the CS 80 V.
Now I know a lot of people have made claims that it doesn't sound like the real thing. That's not what this is about. I'm not going to sit here and claim that it does.
But my overall impression of the synth until now was that it sounded like crap.
And then I heard this man demo it.
And I was blown away.
So what did I learn, based in some additional information that I got from several people who are familiar with this man's work.
It's not the synth. At least not all by itself. It's the performer, the room acoustics, the speaker system, the FX you run it through, everything. Maybe Layzer is right. Maybe in the hands of a master with the right acoustics and FX and everything else you can make Charlatan sound like Omnisphere 2. I don't know.
But it helped me answer a lot of questions about another synth that I was convinced was "superior" to everything else.
Now, I'm not so sure.
And I shouldn't be surprised. All those years going to Rondo Music and listening to Bill Liddie demo all these "great" synths for me and how blown away I was and then I get the thing home and it sounds like crap. I should have figured it out then.
I don't know how good this makes the CS 80 V in actuality, but I do know that it's certainly capable of sounding amazing.
Except maybe when I get my hands on it.
The videos I've watched of the V6 collection, I really like what I've heard. I really want this set. Maybe almost as much as I wanted V5 and that was mostly for the improved GUIs. But I have to admit, this is a damn fine update.
One poster was probably right. I'll probably end up getting this before the end of the year.
Until now.

That is surely not nearly as impressive as the Andromeda video you posted for me. To each his own.wagtunes wrote: The synth I'm talking about is the CS 80 V.

All of the patches I think. It's a clever way to allow people to test the sounds and although you don't have access to the full GUI unless you buy the full version you do get quite a few params available through the A Lab interface and can save patches and make multis so it's very cool they have given this to users VColl5 owners free (and VColl 4?).TCDetroit wrote:√ The A-Lab3 gives V5 usurers a free non timed access to a few patches.
