About 20 or so seconds in a set of bass 5th overtones start that are beating. You can almost get the fact that it will rock your teeth out in the video. In real life the weight of the sound is incredible. The 2nd thing to notice .. god I hate to use these terms .. notice how much sweeter and syrupy the filter is as it opens for lead lines. This is a very short and 1 trick example.
And for the record, I like the V as well. It just doesn't sound like (mostly the way the filters work) a CS-80. It sounds like it is from that family though. It's close enough, and it has the vibe.

If you have to ask, you can't afford the answer

Personally from the Arturia analog emulations i like Matrix-12 V2 really much. That multimode filter is just crazy and with 15 filter modes it is very versatile...
If i need some more low end i just add an EQ (e.g. Waves Renaissance EQ) or a bass boost plugin like e.g. Waves OneKnob Phatter (one of my favorite FX plugins...)

CS-80 V doesn't even come close to the sound of either hardware units.

Ujiie is a magician. He makes everything sound amazing. Just watch his reface videos and see if the "hated" minikeys hold him back.wagtunes wrote:And then I heard this man demo it.

I just got finished watched the official Arturia demos for both the CMI and the Easel. I have to say that both have me very intrigued. I'm not even sure which one I like better. I'm really getting into West Coast Synthesis lately but still, that CMI is so cool.

I bought V5 mainly to get the Matrix 12V. It's my favorite of the bunch.
But after getting the collection I discovered several others that I also like very much.
The SEM-V rocks my boat.
I really enjoy all the extra features of the Mini-V, even though it may not be the closest sounding emulation out there right now.
The Synclavier-V is also very cool, but I still haven't wrapped my head around the whole thing.
I can't comment on the new stuff because I haven't been able to get into the site.
The servers must really be getting hammered.
