I've been following this thread since the beginning, but can't recall if these questions have been answered, and don't want to go back over this 77 page thread again to see.
1) Is the $199 price to upgrade from Collection v5 to v6 a limited time offer, expiring soon, or is it good for this year? In other words, is there some fixed deadline coming up when it will expire (early January?), or will it be available for this year? I can't remember whether the upgrade price for Collection v4 to v5 upgrade was available in our user area all last year (I bought it right when it came out). I want to do the upgrade from v5 to v6, but not right now, hoping to do it in the spring after I get my tax refund. But don't want to miss out on the $199 upgrade price by waiting until then.
2) Has anyone seen the $199 upgrade price cheaper anywhere? I've checked audio deluxe.com and jrrshop and didn't see the upgrade offered at all, let alone for a discount. Has anyone seen the $199 upgrade price cheaper anywhere?
Thanks and happy holidays to all!

I don't remember the exact date, but it expires early in January. I haven't seen it cheaper from anyone else, but, it will eventually be cheaper from Arturia.dbender wrote:I've been following this thread since the beginning, but can't recall if these questions have been answered, and don't want to go back over this 77 page thread again to see.

An observation about the CMI V sample volume. It is very low. And it appears the sample volume slider is already at about max. Only way I've found to increase the volume is throw a compressor on it. But this takes up the one FX slot I have for that sample whereas I'd much rather put something else more "useful" there.
I'm sampling at a normal volume inside my DAW, but CMI V plays it back at a much lower volume. I have looked through the whole manual but can't find anything.
Is there any way to fix this? Is there some volume control that I'm missing, other than the sample volume slide which is almost at max and also the master volume in the mixer is at 0 db.
Suggestions?

I expect it to be 99 dollar in summer sales or if that doesn't happen in end of year sales.ghettosynth wrote:

Do you use the full dynamic range? What is the (amplitude of ) the waveform showing.wagtunes wrote:An observation about the CMI V sample volume. It is very low. Do the factory samples have the same 'loudness' issue?

You must be doing something wrong. If something, I find the sample volume to be quite high (to use any effect, I usually have to lower the volume).wagtunes wrote:An observation about the CMI V sample volume. It is very low. You should first check the CMI V, check the presets, and read the manual. It is a quite complex instrument (disguised in a simple sampler
Each voice can load a sample. You start to control the volume in the Voice Level (usually, I put this at -36 dB, if I want to control it dynamically, EG with the attack velocity). If not, you can raise it to 0 dB. At 0 dB, it should play the sample at the volume you record it, if you loaded it in a init voice.
Then you have the Mixer Volume slider (which is ANOTHER volume controller). Here, you can again use it at 0dB (which is where it is by default). The sample should play at the recorded volume.
Pay attention that, when you load a sample, it doesn't assume 16-bit 44.1 kHz by default, but rather 8-bit and 33488 Hz. That's probably why it is sounding different to you. You have to go to the Edit tab and correct the settings.

Thanks for all the help guys. A couple of settings I overlooked. Got it working "correctly" now.
Deceptively simple looking, this thing is anything but. Might turn out to be my favorite of the new additions.
