Website says end of February
so that those of us that went along with their subscription model from the get-go will have to pay to get 2.3.
Really? I thought I upgraded to 2.0 basically as soon as it was available and my 12 month goes to March 1st. Is yours earlier than March 1st?

This!
Awesome looking update but I hope it will not be a bug fest.

Then join the Beta and report as many your bugs as possible.

Wow, excellent update, great job, Bitwig

Biggest feature for me are new time-streching algorithms and I am looking forward to hear a "colored" ones ("Cyclic — retro stretching inspired by classic cream colored samplers") :tu:

of course it is, I don't have to accept the bitwig marketing spiel...
you are subscribing for maintenance, if you end your subscription, you get no more updates, even for bug fixes i.e. you don't have support.

unlike a paid upgrade route, where you pay for version X, and you get bug fixes for it until the next 'major version'.

also bare in mind (and this might change!) , currently you can only download the current version from bitwig, so if your sub has ended, you cannot go back and get 'your' version.
(yes, I keep a copy of the image, but really bitwig should do this)

28th Feb :)

I previously have, and seen bugs go unfixed...
and if i do this, then basically im accepting 2.3, which means im basically committing to the re-subscribing.

which leads me too...
I think upgrading around NAMM time is a mistake, I suspect they are going to do this every year... this is natural, so they can have an announcement and the PR.
so I think, if your using BWS, its better to have a plan running from April to April, that way you get the 'big NAMM upgrade' , but also have a couple of months in hand for bug fix releases.

btw: Ive no issues with any of this, I don't mind paying for upgrades, just I think we are going to see how the BWS model works, and if their words about 'features coming as ready, not for milestone releases' actually ring true.

The Oscillators can also modulate the filter!!

Nice, but I think someone should start another thread about this, 3 isn't nearly enough imho.

my guess is that within 2-3 years, the plans will have distributed themselves fairly evenly throughout the year.

your probably right.

however, if they do yearly namm announcements (likely), this will put a (small?) bias into renew dates, as users with lapsed plans will be tempted to upgrade to get the 'big release'.

but as you say, early days ... only time will tell

The website also mentions "a multitude of improvements"... so I'm rather curious to see what various small improvements have been made besides the mentioned major features. (I assume multitude is overly enthusiastic :))
