Yeah i've been looking at this plugin for some time but never tried it. I feel like i would be paying £200 for a professional grade noise reduction, when i'm really only looking for special fx, which reafir and dtblkfx give us for free. But maybe i'll go for it if i see it on sale.vectorwarrior wrote: Spectral dynamics is this and more. Instead of using the standard gate or dynamics curves, use the custom curve and draw your own transfer curve. I've made some absolutely insane sounds with this.
One question though, i'm guessing it has latency, so does it give us the ability to set the latency to a number that makes sense musically?
For example, in dtblkfx we can set the delay to 1 beat, 2 beat, 4 beat etc, which allows to have a large enough buffer size to create really smooth etheric sounds (you know the extreme pre-ringing effect), but without the latency that such a process normally gives, because the plugins delay times covers that.
With this technique, it means all you have to do is take everything that's going to be processed through the plugin, and shift it one beat to the left, and everything is perfectly in sync, no matter how large your buffer size.
I know i can do this sort of thing with mspectral delay, but that's kinda awkward, because once you set the buffer size to 16384, it then adds that on top of the delay time you specify.
Hope i'm making sense, and it could be that i just need to learn spectral delay a bit better
