I'm pretty sure it would. Reaktor is a footnote. Not everyone is into modular synths (i'd say, even, the least), and you really restrict your traget audience with that. Especially with a EDM synth, like Massive was.

Shame about the Reaktor thing... But I like the synth. I think the price is okay.

Hmmm... reckon I'll pick it up.
I will take the Lord's name in vain, whenever I want. Hail Satan! And his little goblins too.

Did get this clicking as well while playing and it wasn't wanted :(

Staring away a bit from this synth and thinking openly...why NI introduced coolest stuff - libraries and synths after K12U is already out. Upgrade from 11th to 12th ultimate doesnt look atractive anymore even on sale :-D

Post

The funny thing which i just realized is... people always asked for a classic subtractive synth like this from NI, because, people always argued that it's the one thing missing. Now they release one, and people complain about the Reaktor requirement. :) Hard times in paradise.

Nah I disagree: In the same way I can't be bothered to build an sample instrument and just want to play something - so use Kontakt Player rather than the full Kontakt, if I want to use a pre-made synth or effect rack I'll happily load up Reaktor Player rather than require the full Reaktor beast.

Not sure such a milestone of a product like Massive will be a Reaktor Player device of course, but (as with Monark) I wouldn't see it being too problematic if it was.

I don't think that Massive X would have an huge impact on sales if it would be in Reaktor (Player). I got feeling that people complaining about Reaktor are in huge but vocal minority.
On what do you base that assumption?

Personally, I think it's stubbornness on the part of NI. I cannot conceive that they cannot provide a one click solution.

But we are spoiled. That is true.
From my own experience, I can say that users are prone to whine about little things like having to click a few times.

How far do you go to keep your user content? It's a tough balance.
But if an issue keeps popping up (in other words, people keep whining about it) , it's my opinion that, as a responsable developer, you should resolve the issue.

(For the record, I have a one click solution in my DAW. It's actually not hard to do. But apparently for enough users it seems to be a problem. When this is reported to you as a developer, you have to accept this as a fact and work from there, to give your users the experience that they want.
Always a tough balance though....).

Is this a sort of simple pre-runner to Massive X to test the waters?

Lotuzia wrote: Fri May 03, 2019 11:11 amMaybe it's nice to use in actual studio works.
It's super-quick to use and get good/great sounds out of it. Simply because everything is there on one page. Consider it as a beefed-up (Alpha) Juno through Prophet-5 filter crossbreed with (way) more possibilies.
Yes, but well, I don't mind at all clicking on a tab, or even a lot of tabs, to get that exact/precise sound I want.
Uhh, then choose another synth? This one was never meant to be sound designer's dream, I suppose.
Ah those (multi-chained) truncated quotes :)

What I said precisely was simply : Beeing a one window synth has few influences on my final choices. I use such synths, and I use some much more complex instruments as well.
In the end -to me- : Only sound speaks : UI/GUI is only the medium/tool to achieve settings that will drive you to the sound journey. Music. Ymmv.

I don't have a problem with it either, but, i have Reaktor, and before that, for Monark, i had Reaktor Player. Let's just say that i can well understand that people don't want to install two additional softwares (Native Access and Reaktor (Player)), to play with this synth. Not much of a hassle for me, but, we're all different in that regard.

That's exactly me. I want to get to the point as fast as possible. Spoiled? Maybe, but I can't help, that's how my head works nowadays.
Besides, wasn't a fast workflow something we all appreciated in the old VA hardware? Why is it so wrong to look for that in software?
Start making music was as far as turning a power switch on. I can't see that in Reaktor.
