Unloved synths

XILS Lab synths. Some good stuff, but I keep finding issues with them from time to time, and their current beta for XILS 3 has wiped out all the factory presets when installing - the only reason I installed it was because they suggested it would fix issues with the current release version...
They really need to keep their synths updated a little better - I'd use it more if they were more reliable with their updates.

I really like and still use a lot of the Waldorf software - Largo, PPG 3.v., even Attack. They desperately need to clean up and fix their plugins, though. With the PPG, they had to remove most of the included presets because of a problem with NKS and that was years ago, still no fix. The VST3 version of Largo constantly crashes on my system no matter the DAW (at least the VST2 version works).Cooker wrote: Mon Feb 03, 2020 12:01 pm I wish Waldorf would update Largo. Personally I have no problems with the sound but the preset browser is really ancient.
Take a single oscillator, producing a drone. Send it to the wave shaper, altering the tone.
This can be a triangle, Sawtooth or a square. Modulate the pulse width, nobody will care

Largo VST3 works fine here. Are you on Windows or Mac OS X?
OK, I didn't really push it too far, in terms of using any feature which it has, but, the stuff I use works.

Works here. Maybe you should overwrite the last beta by reverting by whatever older version that did work on your system (until things are fixed).(all old installers are available on Xils site)Forgotten wrote: Tue Feb 04, 2020 3:01 am XILS Lab synths. Problem with the old version is that it won’t pass validation in Logic, so it’s not working at all if I revert.Lotuzia wrote: Tue Feb 04, 2020 4:09 pmWorks here. After demoing for a couple of days, I just bought Wiggle (on sale for $39, got it for even less). Apart from what has been mentioned, the sequencer and built-in recorder are two standout features that make using Wiggle a real fun. I like its sound too. Great synth for the price I paid! I know it'd been recently on sale for $19, but it's OK.
ArcSyn is on sale right now, 40% off with code SPRING40. Getting it for just $24 (currency converted), but having just bought Wiggle, I need to clam down.

I feel VirtualCZ isn't talked about a lot. I love it.

someone mentioned Hybrid, but I'll also give a shout out to Loom2 from Air as well. I like the sounds and it is a lot of fun to program and play with

Yeah, me too. I really wanted Loom 2 during this current sale, especially for the randomize feature. But having got Wiggle, I will put it on the list for later.fairlyclose wrote: Mon May 18, 2020 12:55 pm someone mentioned Hybrid, but I'll also give a shout out to Loom2 from Air as well. I bought it in the hope it would fill the hole that losing PlastiCZ! and my SynthEdit PD synths left but I never really warmed to it. I don't think I even have it installed any more. I might have to give it another go.

It's not as unpopular as you might think. Out of my 80 libraries, it's my 37th best seller. Not bad for a synth that NEVER gets talked about.

Is that a marketing? I fail to see the relation!wagtunes wrote: Mon May 18, 2020 2:53 pmIt's not as unpopular as you might think. Out of my 80 libraries, it's my 37th best seller. Not bad for a synth that NEVER gets talked about.
