revvy wrote: Sat Apr 11, 2020 2:26 am OK. I wrote to them about a similar thing couple of years ago on Mac but it got resolved. Let's hope you get some luck.
Can you share the solution with us please ?
Strange that spectrasonics find the solution for some people and not for others
"Strange that spectrasonics find the solution for some people and not for others".

Sorry, what?
What kind of solution did they provide for you that fixed the laggy-ness of omnisphere ?
What are you implying with "for some people and not for others". You think I'm bullshitting or something?Just want to clarify before I spend any more time answering you.
It’s strange that many people still don’t have a solution from spectrasonics support about this issue, but others do. Are we experiencing same issues or maybe it’s something to do with our hardware setups ? Very confusing
Well I'm an a Mac and you're on PC for a start, no? Maybe it's OS related.

Day after I bought Omini 2.something I wrote to them about a slight lag (under a second) on GUI clicks as I thought it was terrible for such an expensive SW. They replied that they had already identified GUI issues on Mojave and sent me a beta. It worked! They rolled out the change in the next update.

Nothing 'strange'.

I also just bought Omnisphere and have this problem, the envelope zoom page is particularly bad. I've tried it in Reaper and Ableton 10 and Standalone and nothing seems to help the problem. My PC is definitely optimized and fast enough to handle Omnisphere, and I'm pretty savy ;)

I wrote Spectrasonics and have yet to hear back.

I sent them this video

Okay, well I've made SOME progress. First of all, I am an idiot and thought Omnisphere was installed to my ssd but it turns out I forgot I had an HDD. I reinstalled to the SSD and it is WAAAAAY faster now, which is cool. So definitely double triple check, cause I felt like I am smarter than this. oops.

I still have this envelope issue though, and I've tested it with multiple audio devices/DAWs/standalone etc etc and I have FOUND A CLUE.

This behavior only exists on my machine when Curve1/Curve2 are selected as envelope shapes. If I remove them from the complex envelope, suddenly the envelope editor behaves as I would expect, like, it doesn't have a 3sec delay on editing points and the sliders operate above 2fps. This is pretty helpful for me as I can start to think about designing envelopes without using those curves, or at least, using them smarter so I dont have to deal with this BS as much.

Spectrasonics got back to me but just asked the basic questions, and I told them what I found so maybe it will lead to an update someday. :tu:

I just started experiencing severe start-up delays with the latest version of Omnisphere in Reaper 6.09. It’s taking almost a minute to come up! At first I thought it wasn’t working at all but it eventually came around. Was working fine last week. Windows 8.1/64. I recently updated my Korg Digital Legacy and installed Waves Horizon set, though none of either were being used. Tried rolling Reaper back to a previous version but it didn’t help. Might be time to do a fresh install and clear out the drift wood...Or uninstall the Korg and Waves stuff and see if that helps.

DizzlerMusic wrote: Mon Feb 10, 2020 12:58 am Omnisphere is sooo slow on my machine aswell, i had a 3570k for years and i thought its just too slow since it always spiked when changing stuff in Omnisphere, i upgraded to a 12 core 3900x and im still having the same issues. In Fl Studio there is a FPS counter and whenever i move a knob it drops fps (not many but around 5-10) , but when im moving points in the envelope window it drops to 5 fps all the time. I tested Serum and it never drops even a single FPS, no lag whatsoever.I contacted Spectrasonics when 2.5 came out after i noticed the lags, send them multiple videos, and .... they never fixed it. I tried to go back to 2.3.2h because that version was soooo smoth but it was already too late since alot of patches were corrupted. So yeah ,the 2.5 update killed my omnisphere and now im not even using it anymore because its so frustrating, and the sad part i paid like 1000$(?) for it(omnisphere+trillian+keyscape) lol
On spectrasonics website they only have the latest installers, where can I find 2.3.2h ?
And will it work with newer patch and soudnsource library ?
Hey sry for the late reply, but you can get the older installers on their website. You need to go to updates, and then at the bottom theres a "legacy download area"

Lets hope they fix this eventually. Lets also hope it wont take them another year to do so though, because then it will be 3 years since i first emailed them about the issue(Back in 2018). That would be quite some time for a simple GUI lag fix.

Theres also a crackle bug with their reverb which happens in some cases (which i also reported back in 2018). You can hear it with the preset called "Armando Pluck". If you play multiple notes you hear it, when you disable the Pro-Verb its gone. This wont happen in older versions like 2.3.2h

Yeah no fix or word from them since. Oh well.

I have had Omnisphere on two different SSD by now and it was slow on each one. Regardless of updates and transferring to a new PC. The slow loading coupled with the big empty spaces of the GUI just makes it "feel" clunky and slow. It's usually worth the wait though. It has some beautiful, classic sounds. Maybe it's just too large of a library for its own good and it will never be as snappy and fast as a typical synth that's under 100 MB.

even that is 10 times too bloated. most of my synths average

Any of you happen to run some slow GPU like intel internal GPU? I have GTX1070 and basic functions are snappy, loads fast from SSD but the curve is a bit slow and always has been as far as I remember..
