Regarding the installer, there's this totally harmless little thing in the code: When a 'Quick clean-up' is done, the reported number of files deleted is NOT the number of files that were actually deleted. The number represents the files that were read when the function first started. You need a Linux guy to see this
Since in Linux, for each .dll file there's a .so file in the same directory.

Haha, and how exactly are you going to keep that up to date?DarkStar wrote: Wed Sep 09, 2020 12:57 pm I disagree.Samples used in factory-supplied devices should be in the MSF Essentials pack. Otherwise users will get a false impression of the designer's devices.
Studio 2018 is not available individually for download any more, the 2008-2018 download is nearly 20 GB.

I've been wanting this thing to have an editable GUI like Kontakt lollllll
SeeingInMidi wrote: Fri Sep 04, 2020 10:12 pm Great update! With customizable GUI being introduced. Are we getting closer to this being a reality?

fmr wrote: Wed Sep 09, 2020 9:00 am I have been browsing through the presets, and noticed that some use samples that are NOT in the MSoundFactory Essentiials. For example, when trying to load Cinematic Braams, I get the following error:
fmr,
I have the same missed samples but I it's sound great even without them... ( and maybe better).

1. The final "Next" in the Melda 14 Installer should say "install" or "Install Now". I was surprised that the installation started when I clicked on "next"
2. Is there any need to un-install anything prior to installing the update?
3. Surprised that the Melda Installer 14 search for Melda files missed my (S) Sample drive MeldaProduction\Monastery Grand and \MSoundFactroyEssentials
4. The Installer did not find my MeldaProduction Project file which is empty in the (P) Project drive.
5. Hmm. MDrummer factory Path. Why in C drive? Can put in the (S) Sample drive MeldaProduction\MDrummer? I realize it is stressed that to use the Melda default folder locations but wonder what issues can develop if not. Yes I read the manual but still not clear about this data folder. Sorry!

1-Good idea, we'll see about that.
2-No
3-It cleans up plugins (because that's where the problems can start), not data.
4-I don't know what "project" is
5-You can certainly put it anywhere you want, that's why it is configurable
fmr: These are some MDrummer data. You don't need to install them, the packs are big, but then the instruments certainly won't sound as expected. See, there's a big power for you available - you can use any kind of sound from all our collection, including MDrummer, but certainly you cannot expect to work without installing it![]()
2. Good to know.
3. I thought that the Melda Installer 14 (14.05?) Search just looked for some/all Melda files and it is for the user to select and delete some or all. I did not delete any files. Going from memory the Melda Installer search for the Melda files did not find my (S) Sample drive MeldaProduction\Monastery Grand and \MSoundFactroyEssentials. I am fairly sure it searched the S drive.
4. Yea, Why have a MeldaProduction Project Folder? Not needed.
5. Not sure if the three .Mdrummerpack’s I downloaded were installed. The .Mdrummerpack’s are not important to me but I will take your advice and install them. Would be great if a .txt file was included to offer tips and instructions on the installation. I was able to check and confirm that the Monastery Grand was properly installed but not MDrummer. Perhaps this will all be understood as I get more farmiliar with MSF.
A few more notes:
6. Why not us the standard/default Windows “download to” path C:\Users\myname\Downloads\MeldaProductions.
7. “VST support” can mean:
XYZ can host VST’s or
XYZ can run or operate as a VST. A host such as a DAW can host this VST. It does not have VST support, it is a VST. Often I can tell what is meant by “VST support” but sometimes I scratch my head trying to figure it out. Likely I am the only one here scratching my head.
8. Glad you did not use gray text which sometimes is hard to read on screen and if printed on paper.

6. Already done
. Interestingly I personally uninstalled OneDrive and now it is somehow linked to a nonexistent OneDrive folder
. MS didn't think this through
7. Ugh what?

As long there are no real instrument sample expansions it can’t replace it for me. For sound designing, maybe, but why not using both? Both have there own strength and weakness too me.

I had hoped it would be closer to omnisphere, where you loaded a few samples and then BAM you had an instrument....
