(I already have Hawkeye SPL, and generally find with these plugins that you need to use them for well beyond the demo period to actually realise what utility they provide).
MetricAB is also very good for metering, with a Spectrum Analyser and soloing function, LUFS, TruePeak, Stereo Image, Correlation, Dynamics, etc.

Those features are not covered by MtM REFERENCE, they have LEVELS for that.

Don't have SPL Hawkeye, son don't know how they compare.

Hi, I got 'complaints' about some of our prices not discounted even for our logged-in customers.
Well, that's not totally true... Here's the thing:
Some mfr’s don't allow showing below-retail pricing. Even for logged-in 'members'.
So we have this "Buy more - Get cash back" offer for these products, in which you can add anything to cart and get 10% off both.
And I mean: ANYTHING. Even the cheapest plugin in the store.
So for example, you can choose a $100 product, add another $4.99 and you'll get 10% off both.
Do the math.
(This is better than 'Virtual cash" because you get immediate discount on both, and not future discount only on one of them.)
Cheers,
k.

Thanks for that, will take a look out for it next time i have a monthly voucher and it's on offer.

whats the probability that this stuff will be free eventually. I paid for Trash2, I paid for Iris2, maybe we see Excalibur or PhoenixVerb free soon? I mean Izotope seems to enjoy to give their products away for little to nothing lately.
I wouldn’t bet against it or be the least bit surprised if Excalibur or PhoenixVerb were offered as freebies (with purchase?) at PB.

I already bought both of them months ago for $10 USD each and have no regrets. I paid $29 USD for Trash 2, as well, but that was over 4 years ago.

It seems iZotope has been successful with their “first taste is free” (or cheap) promotions. The few complaints I see about them are usually about their upgrade prices.

I won’t argue that, but as a customer for years, I don’t have any buyer’s remorse.
It's all about the flagships. Get something like Iris 2 for free, and they get the email address and you get their installer, which has a "look at what you could have won" feel to it. So they get customers who are committed up to a point.

Then offer those new leads a discounted or free Elements - I expect they see lots of conversions into upgrades. The balance of price and volume must work for them.

Obviously it helps to have a product line with a good reputation. And the iZ blog posts / tutorials are also very good marketing.
It worked on me, and I use Rx, ozone, and neutron every day- neutron elements for $29 was my entry. Great tools.

I think their stuff is generally of at least reasonable quality, but IMO the exponential audio isn't quite up to the standard or their in house stuff.
sorry, what do you mean .. you feel the Exponential Audio reverbs e.t.c are not as good sounding as other iZotope reverbs?

I contacted them with that question in the past and this was the reply:
You are able to disable your license activations for use on someone else's machine. However, transferring a license will void access to support for the new owner. There aren’t currently transfer fees.
Good to know that, although their words are a bit shady.
Nothing really shady in practice though. I purchased a secondhand copy of MTM Reference via KVR and those were the terms I received as well. Seems fair to me, since there is no fee for transfer. However, Tom did provide me limited support to ensure there were 2 activation slots on my account, when I only showed 1 after the license transfer. Haven't needed support for anything else and rarely would I ...

... and the Reference v1 license does work with Reference v2. Count me as a satisfied customer. :tu:

This is a fantastic approach to give everyone discounts on any product. It is something I will bare in mind with my next purchase.

Okay, thanks for the info. :tu: I did interact with Tom once when I had purchased one of their ebooks and agree that their support is really good.

I am demoing Reference 2 and Metric AB right now and while both are great, I am leaning towards Metric AB.

That the standard of the reverbs (as well as the interfaces) are not quite up to the standard of the other recent izotope effects (ignoring the older stuff like iris and trash for a moment).

Post

uh... the exponential audio reverbs are top notch and are in no way inferior to other iZotope products. As far as reverbs go, they can keep up with some of the best around imo. GUI is arguably a bit dated.

Yeah, if had to pick only one of the two, I'd also go with MetricAB.

This is a good deal on Addictive Trigger.

However, if you're looking at Addictive Drums, you'll do better to wait. They're offering 50% off all their individual expansion packs and expansion bundles, but the "Addictive Drums Custom" bundle is a much better deal, and it's not currently on sale. And when it is, place like AudioDeluxe will have it even cheaper - this current sale is only on XLN's own website.

The Custom bundle includes 3 ADpaks, 3 MIDIpaks, and 3 Kitpiece packs. Right now, not even on sale, that's $127 at AudioDeluxe, and I'm guessing it'll be under $100 when the real Black Friday sale rolls out. The same set of stuff in XLN's current sale would cost $155, which is only slightly less than the full MSRP ($169) of the Custom set.

If you only want one or two specific packs, the current sale might be good, but for any larger purchases, wait until next week.

You should at least take a gander at MeldaProduction's MCompare. Like everything else Melda, it puts in every feature including the kitchen sink and wraps it up in a GUI only a mother could love. But it is amazingly flexible, including use cases other than just reference tracks, such are comparing before and after effects chains in your mix and stuff like that. And if they have their (usual?) 50% off everything Black Friday sale, it'll be cheaper than the others too.
