What does CC3 do by default in Rogue, Serpent, and Jupiter?

I just updated my Rogue, Serpent, and Jupiter to the latest versions in Pulse.

I am trying to use CC3 (inverted) to control the strum speed mapping in the strumming tab, but when I set CC3 to some low values that sound good for strumming, it makes normal overlapping notes go out of tune. Does CC3 have some other premapped control that I am not seeing that is causing this?
