Does anyone know if the Bus tool bundle will be updated for native apple silicon?
Probably not. They are retired.

The installers for these legacy plugins will remain available and everything should work for your current setup / operating system. However no software developer can ever promise that their products will continue to work forever given the fast pace of changes in OSses, processors and DAWs.... We'll do our best to keep them up and running as long as possible.
But I believe it was the required Mac OS work that prompted this decision. If Mac wasn't so insistent in constantly breaking their own stuff, we probably wouldn't be in this situation. If someone has tested v3 on Mac Silicone please comment.

Also, dear Mac users, please grumble more to your brand every time your OS breaks everything. It happens way too often and it affects all of us, even those that would not touch a Mac computer with a 10-foot stick.

Not being able to upgrade, because you've been a customer too long is understandable, but it still rubs me the wrong way. It's the principle, not the money. *shrug

Has the developer said anything? Is there any chance of seeing a "Sibalance 4" or a "BusCompressor 4"?
Sibilance3 is one of my favorite de-essers and I totally get the value of a plugin that is limited to that function for simplicity. But you can set up some really great and specific de-essing in EQ4.

Yep. I only tried v4 and it didn't convinced me to update at all. V3 all the way!

i can imagine Jeroen working on new 'Sibalance' type of plugin.
EQ4 is amazing, but i hope the de-essing tech gets combined with some of the AI and frequency specific adaptive type of thing, in some new freqy shniz. Not quite EQ, not quite compressor, not quite de-esser...

Sibilance 4 with zero latency would be very cool...
No auto tune...

Post

agreed. sibalance with less latency would be a joy!

love sibilance 4

Love Barricade 4.

And it's compatible with Apple M1 thus winding up certain posters in this forum. Added bonus!

Is it really a good idea to de-ess while tracking, though? If the performer has more accurate feedback of their sibilance, they can improve their technique and the de-esser can work less hard (or even be removed). With de-essing active they might double-down and make the problem worse!

Sibalance is one of my most used plugins...and I don't work with vocals at all. Just saying...

The v3 series, both track and bus plugins, are now officially free. The portable archive contains keyfiles for them and this is mentioned in the support page.

Kudos for that!

It is down, indeed.
