F-Mod (never heard of it myself)

Looks like a Ableton / Bitwig alternative (Free for non-commercial or educational use)

Not exactly a DAW.
It's a tool for non-linear audio implementation in game engines, interactive media etc...

MATLAB Audio Toolbox makes and hosts AU/VST plugins, has MIDI devices, streams audio to ASIO and CoreAudio, lets you tweak algos in real time, etc just like a normal DAW:
