Luna flew under the radar of this thread. It's strange in more frustrating way of you having to meet it's requirements, unlike any other DAW.

I worked with this some years ago with probably the last working hardware version…

It is sort of reanimated as UPISketch…

F-Mod (never heard of it myself)

Looks like a Ableton / Bitwig alternative (Free for non-commercial or educational use)

Not exactly a DAW.
It's a tool for non-linear audio implementation in game engines, interactive media etc...

Windows, Linux, Mac
Modular, but different.

MATLAB Audio Toolbox makes and hosts AU/VST plugins, has MIDI devices, streams audio to ASIO and CoreAudio, lets you tweak algos in real time, etc just like a normal DAW:

Full Matlab for personal use is $150 plus $50 each for the three signal processing toolboxes, so $300 total

I first heard of 1Bitdragon (https://1bitdragon.com) earlier this year. Was just watching some tutorials on it and I think I'll grab it. Even at full price ($20), the amount of features is nuts, and now it's on sale for 50% off. It's not a "full-featured" DAW, but it's not really pretending to be either. And for a non-professional like myself, it looks refreshingly simple to just get something down quickly and worry about improving it afterward.
