Just wanted to verify that the iZotope RX Post Production Suite 5 Upgrade from RX PPS 4 purchased through JRR includes the free upgrade to RX PPS 6. Thanks Eric.

They told me you'll get a free upgrade to RX 9 but didn't say if you'll get a free upgrade to RX PPS 6. I recommend waiting until RX PPS 6 comes out because the upgrade will be on sale for the same price.

I bought my PPS5 upgrade from Jrrshop. I asked izotope if it qualifies for a free upgrade to v6 and they said yes.

With RX Standard, you've got all the bases covered and then some.

If you only have RX Essentials, then that only includes the "DeNoise Voice" option, which is optimized for vocals and dialogue. The De-Noise in Acon's suite is more general purpose. The Acon De-Noise is also a spectral design, which actually attempts to filter the noise, as opposed to RX's DeNoise Voice which is basically a multi-band gate. In at least one blind comparison, folks preferred the noise reduction of Acon over RX Essentials by almost three-to-one: https://www.pro-tools-expert.com/produc ... ogue-track

That said, one thing about sound restoration stuff that I've read is that they're like compressors - there's no linear "better/worse" kind of comparison, because any of them might be just the right tool for some particular jobs. So if restoration is a big part of what you do, having the Acon Suite might be useful even if you do have RX Standard.

Agreed. Spectral De-Noise is a whole other level. RX Standard and Advanced have it, I use it constantly.

Sounds and looks interesting. Looks like a second installment to Orchestral Tools collection after ARKHIS and there might be one more instrument in future to complete the trilogy like they did with THE LIGHT TRILOGY recently.
