Cool hint to use "MFreeformEqualizer to match frequency spectrum to the comparison material". But I am wondering about MTurboComp for master compression. Check out this MXXX preset:You need to pop-out the order module, so you get a console, where you can easily add other plugins and change the order of the tools. I admit I use normally Ozone 9 for mastering, as I do not have that much time to develope my mastering skills. But if you know Ozone, then you will recognize the similarities between it and my approach to use the order module.Code: Select all

A single instance of MLimiterX' Maximizer device in M/S mode is the last processor in my master chain. The rest is stuff from other companies. My go-to limiter for 10 years was Unlimited, but MLimiterX has the M/S mode and Unlimited doesn't.
I would probably use more Meldaproduction plug-ins, maybe entirely, for this, but I'm very much into M/S processing on buses. To do what I do I would need to insert two instances of any given Meldaproduction processor, one in mid mode and the other in side mode. elysia alpha mastering compressor's M/S mode gives you individual controls for mid and side in a single instance, as do most T-Racks processors. elysia puts them all on one screen, whereas T-Racks switches between identical screens for mid or side. So they end up in my master chain instead of Meldaproduction FX.
With two separate instances, it's harder to keep track of which instance is which and there's no way to link controls between the instances.

If you're not sure that you understand what I'm doing, here's more explanation.
elysia alpha, Millenia NSEQ-2, and T-Racks 670 all present me with a screen with two sets of controls. By default, each of the two sets controls left and right, and they're linked so that the settings will be the same for both sides. You can switch them so that instead of left and right, they'll process mid and side.
You can also unlink the controls, so when I switch them to M/S mode, one set of knobs controls the mid, the other set controls the side. No special setup required, everything I want to adjust right in front of me. When I have them dialed in, it's easy to recall the steps I went through to get the good results. Other T-Racks units have it so that within one instance, when they're unlinked you switch back and forth between identical Mid and Side (or left and right) screens, and that works pretty well, too and saves some real estate.
The versatility of Meldaproduction processors is unrivaled, and I love them for that, but, especially when mastering, sometimes simpler is better. Maybe I could get similar results if I spent over a hundy to upgrade to MDynamicsMB and watched enough videos to figure out how to navigate the M/S crossover thing. Maybe I could even make my own "devices" using multiparameters and whatnot that would let me have independent controls for Mid and Side on one screen like I like it. I don't know. That seems like a lot of work to go through to imitate another effect.

If you put a Melda EQ in M+S mode, you can choose for each node if it affects Mid, Side, or Mid+Side (right click the node to get the advanced options).

MDynamicsMB costs 75€ on sale, and if you already have MDynamics, you should get a discount.
I'm not trying to convince you to use more Melda plugins, but your previous post sounded like you were interested in using them on your mastering chain, so I showed you an option of how to do it. But yeah, you're going to have to invest some time to take full advantage of Melda, and if that investment doesn't seem worth it, there's nothing wrong with sticking to what you know.
