The date is for Zebra Legacy... Zebra3 is not nearly finished...
Any news on Uhbik/Filterscape Apple Silicon update? even Alpha/Beta. So I give you my money : )Urs wrote: Fri Oct 28, 2022 11:35 pmThe date is for Zebra Legacy... Zebra3 is not nearly finished...
OK then, just going off what it says on your site.Urs wrote: Fri Oct 28, 2022 11:35 pmThe date is for Zebra Legacy... Zebra3 is not nearly finished...
This makes it sound like the announcement of Zebra 3 is to coincide with the introduction of Zebra Legacy. I can't really read it any other way. What will happen to Zebra2 and The Dark Zebra when Zebra3 finally arrives?.
.......................
The plan is to bundle Zebra2 and The Dark Zebra together instead of selling them as individual products, one of which builds on the other. The switch to ZEBRA LEGACY will occur on a certain cutoff date (yet to be announced). Zebra Legacy will include all our Zebra2 soundsets and will become available at a very attractive price.
Filterscape is on a good path. While it was supposed to be mainly an update of UI and content, there again I encountered a few areas that need my attention - things I simply can't let any other developer do.darkinners wrote: Sat Oct 29, 2022 8:34 am Any news on Uhbik/Filterscape Apple Silicon update? even Alpha/Beta. Wow thank you so much for such a detailed roadmap Urs, I am very excited!Urs wrote: Sat Oct 29, 2022 10:49 amFilterscape is on a good path. As an example, I've used the Zebra3 waveform editor to create more realistic visual curves for filters and EQs. Luckily this is also work towards EQ visualization in Uhbik and Zebra3. The visuals in Uhbik-Q were showstoppers actually as they cost too much CPU. So now we have a way to create them that is pretty accurate and cost next to no CPU at all.
(As a side effect of this, Hive's script based wavetables can now use waveforms edited in Zebra3's waveform editor... some day I'll do another screencast or two... it's good stuff)
Related to this, I'm replacing the old pre-"ZDF" filters with modern variants based on analogue modelling in Filterscape. They simply have fewer artefacts when modulating them. I've developed a good workflow for this and more accurate tools than what we used to have, and that again is something that I'll need for Zebra3 as I want to transition some of the Zebra2 filters into more modern variants.
In Uhbik afaik latter work was already done, but I'll eventually have another look. Hoping for the best. I did have the alphas open recently and find them rather enjoyable. Once Filterscape is out, we'll evaluate what needs to be done and who in the team can do it. It might not be all that much work and I hope that most of it can be done by any of our devs while I focus on Z3.
Ooo! so it's not that the filters in Z3 are all going to be entirely from the ground-up. Some of them will be carried over from Zebra2 and given some "ZDF" analog mojo.Related to this, I'm replacing the old pre-"ZDF" filters with modern variants based on analogue modelling in Filterscape. That's an idea that emerged not so long ago.Shiek927 wrote: Tue Nov 01, 2022 4:36 amOoo! so it's not that the filters in Z3 are all going to be entirely from the ground-up.
