Zebra 3 and Zebra Legacy

Well see, "Okapi" would've also created even more intrigue and maybe even dominated the search results! Lol! But it was only a joke, just to highlight the fact that it's a separate product. I feel like maybe some people are looking at it as if they bought something soon to be replaced, obsolete and discontinued.

Unbelievable how little time it took before people start whining about the upgrade, Legacy etc. even though things were made crystal clear months ago. U-he has been completely transparent the whole time. People seem to make decisions too hastily and can't seem to understand what they read, based on comments and unnecessary questions in this thread

Seriously?!! If it's so clear, why isn't that mentioned on the actual product page? You think new customers who don't necessarily follow U-He need to go and read on Zebra 3 development status? Why? I've not had to do that with others!

Could be lots of new potential customers who will see the low price, and will get it without thinking too much as sales, especially around this time of the year due to Black Friday are common, but as long as it's stated on the actual product page rather than be sneaky about it, then no problems! I only saw the message about no upgrade path when I searched for something else unrelated!

Zebra 3 (also not mentioned on the website) is not anywhere near release. Even six months from now is highly optimistic I think, a year is more likely.

The name legacy in the package should have triggered further research in my opinion.

This was made clear months ago, it’s your fault for not being bothered enough to do a little bit of reading. As you said yourself, you were looking for something else and found out - it’s not exactly hidden.

Thank you to u-he for the free Zebra Legacy for my ZebraHZ: I appreciate all of the patches. I have only tried out about dozen so far, but they are very good!

It's incredible how so many are triggered on here because of a very logical question, logic has escaped a few it seems! Getting so defensive about "value for money" bla bla bla! No doubt U-He will generate a number of new sales because of this offer, and specifically because of this offer for Zebra Legacy, and the only reason I bought it was because of the price! I don't care how many preset banks are offered or how much they were previously, it's about the cost right now of the package, it was to entice people to purchase it, it worked on me as I'm sure it'll work on few more!
I wasn't even aware that v3 may be coming out soon as I haven't followed the U-He exclusive news, seems the U-He official support forum is here and I found this out today!
I think all U-He products were 50% off last year via Native Instruments, I suppose by the silly arguments made here about value for money, those customers will not be entitled to the same upgrade path as those who paid the full price!
Remember, this is software, the code has already been programmed, they're not doing anything extra for me or the next customer, not like a physical product! Just a case of automatically sending me the registration details.
I have purchased lots of plugins over the years, vast majority on sale as I am a sucker for sales, but I could have gone by without getting Zebra (this VST is from 2003 I believe) as I have for all those years, but I sent some money to U-He because of this specific offer, I wouldn't have bought it at full price, else I would have done it by now considering it's age!
I do not need to get the upgrade to v3 as I am sure the current version will carry on working for years to come, but surely it's logical that a reasonable upgrade path is made possible for all Zebra owners, not just some! If not, it should be on the product page that no product upgrade path is available for Zebra Legacy owners, not on the news page, not any forum, right where the button to add to cart or top of the page for the Zebra Legacy product which is where most people will likely end up when they see the offer!
I saw it on the main KVR News page, clicked on the link, then clicked on Zebra Legacy on the U-He website and bought it, no mention of no upgrade path anywhere on that page!

The information is out there, is your job to do the due diligence and look for them. Do you expect U-he and other companies to send spam emails and knock on each door to everyone in all corners of the world and tell them all of their company news?

Ever heard of a loyalty discount? You only think for yourself, don't make it sound like it's some justice or logical bs.

Because on the flip side, the other side of the people can also argue, why I should support this company at full price when the new customer can get the same or even better deal than the loyal customer been supporting u-he for ages.

Are the old Z2 factory presets still installed?

it's still the same z2 build as the most recent. nothing has changed there. so will contain the factory bank on install or if you already have it installed, just add the new banks to you.

Maybe you simply didn't install the factory presets? There's a presets option in the installer.

You said you bought the package for $99 because it was a good deal and you did no research before buying it. Well guess what? You got a good deal. You paid $100 less for that package than people paid just a week ago. Now your upset and think you didn't get a good deal, getting somewhere around $500 worth of synths and soundsets for $99 because why? There is a reason every single person on this forum that has responded to you is telling you that you make no sense. You want an upgrade path to Zebra 3? Take the $100 you just saved on that great package and out it towards Z3 when it comes out in a year or two. That is your upgrade path. I can't even imagine buying a synth with the expectation that if a follow up synth was made OVER 10 YEARS LATER that I would somehow be entitled to an upgrade path. U-He has been very generous here to everyone, yourself included.
