Yes, I know. Will it get CLAP support?

But of course!

We do think very, very long term though. It's not like we need to fill gaps in our portfolio. Instead, we feel we can build upon the portfolio we have. I think we have reached maybe 10% of the market share that's possible. Maybe 25% with Diva, maybe 5% with Repro or Hive. That's like more than the rest of my leftover average life span, so no rush from my side.

I do feel the urge to develop new stuff. I crave doing a proper Mini, a Cat SRM, a JP-4, a S 770 or 800DV, the Synthex. We have new algorithms and technologies that IMHO absolutely rock, Z3 stuff.

But alas, let's finish Filterscape, Uhbik and Tyrell first. While that happens, bit and pieces of Z3 come together.

Please don't do another mini! There are so many great ones already. Do a full MS-20, korg desktop style! Full patching capability, pmw, osc fm and sync, plus CLAP/MPE etc. :)

Or maybe you could just include a full MS-20 patchbay in Diva 2? ;) Kidding, standalone MS-20 would be best.

You have no idea how disappointed I am by all those latest Minis from the most reputable developers. They're like made by people who never touched a Mini, or who thought "let's get rid of all the quirks that make a Mini a Mini and push this dead sounding piece of code onto our followers". I could

Huh, I thought you liked the Legend at least. I really like the softube Mini as well. I think all three of their vintage analogs are excellent.

I'm more thinking that nobody has done the MS-20 justice, which is why I push for that because Diva is probably my favorite thing that's close, but obviously misses the feedback and patching stuff. And to be honest the filters could be a little dirtier and screamier. I like the new Arturia MS-20 filters but the oscs are too dull and something is wrong with their oscs or envelopes that makes it sound like a compressor is on it.

The Legend is older than "the latest" ;-)

Thing is, emulation quality has *IMHO* gone down after Monark and The Legend, instead of building upon the status quo that was already reached.

I wouldn't mind a MS-20 either. I'm more into its predecessors though. We have two 770s, a vintage 700, a new 700s and an 800dv. Maybe a crossover of all of them.

do you have any information of how much are freebies even used? i kinda feel like that there are the people who buy and there are the people who don't (you know what i mean) and then in a long distance are the freebies (besides perhaps the most well known things like SPAN and MeldaFree). it's just that every time i hear that precious development time is used on freebies I kind of feel like... eek.. I hope that zebra3 is coming along. like who even reads future music and downloads their free plugins in 2022. maybe there are a lot of those people, i don't know. i'm sorry

Wow, futures looking bright, looking forward to all of it.
2 questions :
- If there was nothing slowing u down, how long would it take for 1 of those synths to be fully developed?
- Is the polivoks's filter still impossible to model?

I kinda dig that they don’t treat their free synths any differently than their paid plugins. Everything eventually gets updated to the same modern features. Sometimes they even get major overhauls. I’ve had a free update to Z3 cued up since the release of The Dark Zebra or whenever the offer was made. I also have licenses for the other synths and really appreciate that none of them really feel left behind.

Oh Synthex all day ! Not only a beautiful sound but it's rare and falling apart. A software emu will preserve it.
Also, would it be possible for Repro to do a Prophet 600 ?

Oh, sorry if my previous message sounded or seemed to suggest that. My line of thought was more around being better prepared to deal with future global market uncertainties than to be in a bad situation now.

Always good to hear that things are going well! Merry christmas.

Look, I'm trying hard to not mention any names directly. But honestly, I don't even know CA made one. So no, I did not mean that one, I meant everyone that came after The Legend.

Let me also say that I think some of these Minis sound gorgeous, possibly better than anything I would have come up with. I just disagree with their development team (or marketing) on what's part of the Mini's character, and where to simplify/"fix" the model.

I also disagree with marketing lingo like "every single component modelled blah blah" when clearly, even with "fixed" components that bear no part tolerance, the circuitry reliably behaves differently. It means, by simple deduction, certain parts were not modelled and the marketing lingo is simply deceiving.

I have considered sending those companies a list of my disappointments. I have also considered posting my list of disappointments online. But then I thought I should simply put together my own Mini and let that speak for itself. I just don't know where to take the time to finish that project.
