None of that is particularly relevant. Everyone has the choice to ignore the betas, keep working with the previous version, and wait for the official release. Even then, the official release is still a kind of second beta period as a wider group of users inevitably find some new issues. This is how it is and everyone knows it. If someone does not want to have to deal with that, they can wait 6-8 weeks more. By then 5.0.4 or whatever will be out and be solid and ready for getting to it.Jac459 wrote: Thu May 25, 2023 1:12 am
It is factually unrealistic to hope that a software as complex as Bitwig (or any DAW) will work straight out of the box with your computer, your midi setup, your VSTs, your audio card without beta.... There is just way too many cases to test. It is not achievable in a reasonably financially realistic way.
I do that with Mac OS versions. I never update when a new version is released. I always wait about 6 months and then update and never have issues because they have all been sorted by then. That is an area I have no interest to participate in the issue resolving process. So I act accordingly.
