Being able to handle broken configuration files more elegantly could be nice. There are so many reports of SM3 crashing where the solution is to delete the config folder.
Why not let SM3 do that automatically instead of crashing?
If you get the same report/question multiple times, that's usually a sign that there's room for improvement.
You can stop wasting your customers time who need to try to figure out what's wrong, and you can stop wasting you own time by fixing the issue instead of answering the same question over and over again.

If you are referring to the issues regarding sample import, I already fixed that one in rev 15544: Folders are not added to SynthMasterSampleFolders.txt file until all of the files are read successfuly during the import.Held wrote: Tue Oct 08, 2024 4:45 pm Being able to handle broken configuration files more elegantly could be nice. I-Quit's comment was very vague so I asked him specifically which areas needs improvement.

I wasn't referring to a specific issue. I've just seen a few people reporting that SM crashes during startup. They've tried reinstalling and stuff, but it still crashes until they get a list of files to delete and then it works again.kv331 wrote: Tue Oct 08, 2024 5:04 pmIf you are referring to the issues regarding sample import, I already fixed that one in rev 15544: Folders are not added to SynthMasterSampleFolders.txt file until all of the files are read successfuly during the import.Held wrote: Tue Oct 08, 2024 4:45 pm Being able to handle broken configuration files more elegantly could be nice. Maybe those were all because of sample import, but probably not.
Generally speaking, missing or broken configuration files shouldn't be able to crash software. But I also know how tedious it is to handle all possible errors/exceptions correctly.

He wasn't referring to you, Kv331, he was referring to sergiofrias. I happened to notice the following thread, which explained the issue to me:

(Also: I'm Accused of lying about Linux—it boots, runs my pro audio workflow, stays stable, updates--though yearly dismissed as “niche”. Yet I'm the deluded one.)

I think that's quite harsh. Kv331 has been here, daily, in the proverbial trenches working on this program. And he's pretty much been doing it alone too. He's been incredibly responsive, and very amenable. Cut him some slack.Held wrote: Tue Oct 08, 2024 4:45 pmBeing able to handle broken configuration files more elegantly could be nice. Agreed. And well said.jocknaethick wrote: Tue Oct 08, 2024 5:11 pmHaving been using Synthmaster for what seems like a very long time, one thing that I can absolutely assure you of, is that Bulent and his team will ABSOLUTELY continue to improve their plugin in a way that few developers actually do,,,so maybe a little respect and perhaps some good manners would not go astray!

I hope it comes soon. I love the synth and really want to use it without concerns about crashing. But it's the most unstable synth I own and I've got many others that just work- so I'm really not using SM3 at all and am just waiting for it to be more reliable.
I really appreciate the effort Bulent puts in to chatting with us all and fixing the issues, its fantastic and i think other developers could learn from this- but I have to be honest and say that I don't think this product was ready for release.
But I eagerly anticipate that it will be fixed and much musical joy will be had.

kv331 products getting better in time, definitely,sm3 upgrades made last few months was surprisingly inspirational and useful to me.
SM3 is just made right way, among not so many on the market,sm1 was such hit when came out - friendly,intuitive,inspirational...everything a creator could dream of,BUT...
The advertisement of sm3 like previous 2 is still focused on edm genres, nothing seriously is changed as advertisement in areas where more advanced producers work,to show them what this machine can do,to catch their attention.
My criticism is mostly about music stuff, which i think is the problematic area in their public presence, its mostly in electronic genres, but music isn't 128bpm all the time...
That's my humble opinion,if i am using Zebra or Serum or Omnisphere, what would convince me to switch to sm3?
Where is the amazing demo, which trigger 'Buy Now' impulse?
