For actual use and workflow, I think the avenger UI is pretty fkn amazing. Levels above nexus in that regard.hey212 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 04, 2024 7:19 am If you jump to 4:55 in this video, they talk about how the UI designer went beyond what they originally asked for, and just presented them with a blank slate redesign of the interface, which was a lot more work to implement but seems to have been worth it.
I hope they'll allow that designer to revisit the Avenger 2 UI with the eyes of a UI professional as well, because despite being an amazing synth, the UI is quite clunky and old fashioned in general.

Interesting, it's good to know some people like it. Personally I find the amount of control that is hidden behind tabs, and the number of different areas of the layout that contains tabs, and the fact that you seem to have to turn a component on or off in multiple different places to actually turn it on or off, to be pretty clunky and unintuitive. There are too many competing layers of abstraction.

Haha, I'd say the absolute same thing about Nexus! Good thing there are so many options out there.hey212 wrote: ↑Wed Dec 04, 2024 1:51 pm Interesting, it's good to know some people like it. I agree. I think it's one of the most useful synth UIs, especially for such a complex synth.m-ac wrote: ↑Wed Dec 04, 2024 12:55 pmFor actual use and workflow, I think the avenger UI is pretty fkn amazing. A UI that is easy to understand, not unnecessarily full of clutter that overwhelms the eye, and gives you quick access to as many features as possible is all I really ask for. In that regard, Avenger, Phase Plant and to a slightly lesser extent Current are the ones that click for me.
My one criticism all this time has been that I wish it were possible to minimize the browser and use that space for something else. But given all the things they get right, it's a pretty minor concern.

Since there's nothing available, I thought I'd make a quick silent video quickly clicking through the factory samples in the browser. Better than nothing, hopefully.

How do I remove Avenger from my Mac completely? I've deleted the audio library system component plugin, and VST3, removed application support stuff, and searched my hard drive for anything Vengeance or VPS or Avenger, and it's all gone. And I've still got it showing in my Audio Units in Ableton Live after refresh. Is there a hidden one somewhere?

This synth sounds good... Such a shame it isn't optimised for Mac .

I'm sorry you're having problems with Avenger too now, but can you now see how frustrating it is when others are saying they run multiple instances of avenger without any issues at all, yet some of us can't even run a single instance?! Vengeance need to put more resources into this issue, its pretty ridiculous.
I don't even mind it using more CPU on mac, but these 100% CPU spikes when NOTHING is being played....come on. It doesn't happen with a single other synth or plug, of which I'm into the hundreds.

Yes I agree and I was wrong to think that it doesn't have a practical impact.m-ac wrote: ↑Fri Dec 06, 2024 8:08 amI'm sorry you're having problems with Avenger too now, but can you now see how frustrating it is when others are saying they run multiple instances of avenger without any issues at all, yet some of us can't even run a single instance?! With new presets packs becoming more power hungry, it is becoming worse and worse.
The trouble is that problem adds up. Vengeance has this choice to have presets packs that are almost like a full song. It is fun but I am in fact using only one sound of a whole complex presets. So I just solo it because it is a chore to delete all the parts I don't need.
And then I end up with a complex preset for nothing and then my Mac can't run it because even with an M2 Pro I can only run less than 6 avenger instances of a complex preset...
A shame because this synth really sounds awesome.

first i wasnt interested in the new XP but then some nice 90s styled presets popped up!
im wondering reading so many MAC users having issues, sorry mates, is Vengeance not interested fixing this?
cause i read that for avery long time now, cannot believe it is only a handful of people having probs....
