Yeah I believe you. It just doesn't work for me. Just did a full uninstall and reinstall and I still don't see Pigments in Komplete Kontrol. I have those nksf files, but Komplete Kontrol isn't finding them.
Do you have this path in KK settings? If so select and rescan

If not then maybe something is up with the installer - I guess it's a support issue

I suppose if you are on Mac you could maybe try extracting them manually using Pacifist as they are there in the installer (not sure if there is something like that for Windows) - then they would have to go in a user path though if the factory path itself is missing
OK if you don't have that path try adding this plist (extracted from the installer) to Library/preferences
com.native-instruments.Arturia-Pigments.plist.zip

Yeah, it's funny that sound, I couldn't even define what it is.
For me what happens is, that I always step through some presets after each Pigments update and after about half an hour I go back to Synthmaster 3 or something else with a soul.

It's all fantastic, well laid out and crafted, beautifully designed - and bores the hell out of me.
UVI Falcon and Relayer always had a similar effect on me.

The only thing I use Pigments for is it's sequencer, but alway with an external instrument.

Synthmaster 3 is the other extreme for me - I step through a handful of presets or explore things from scratch and always start creating a tune. Doesn't look as fancy but wakes up my ears right away, wanting to hear more...

I only own three Arturia synths but I've demoed most of the rest and there is "something" about their core sound.
If you can't hear it in a blind test, is it really there? Our sense of hearing is extremely susceptible to cognitive bias.

For example:

So if Arturia would like to get me excited for V7, oscillators that sound better, or have more character, would be the feature for me.
Even though they already sound good to you, the influence of others has convinced you that they're thin and need to sound better.

Not trying to call anyone out. If you don't like how Pigments sounds, then you don't like it for whatever reason you have. Just making a point about our cognitive biases.

Tried to install it, but the website was super slow, and by accident, I removed the license from the account. :dog: But what a horrible idea to have a button for this on the website (there must have been a warning, but as the website was so unresponsive, I never saw it...). Like a "nuke your account" button.

Well, support request sent. I guess I won't play with this new toy for a few days then.

No, the path isn't in my list in KK. The actual folder is there in the file system though.

I think the issue is the Pigments 6 installer is not installing these folders:
- /Users/Shared/NI Resources/dist_database/arturia/pigments
- /Users/Shared/NI Resources/images/arturia/pigments

I kept checking after each install, and both folders still had items from August 2024, and weren't getting updated. Just tried removing the folders and running the installer again, and it didn't replace them. I opened the installer with Pacifist and I don't see those folders anywhere.

Update: Wait, found them in:
/Library/Arturia/Pigments/Third Party/Native Instruments/presets/PAResources

...unfortunately, after installing the folders manually and doing another rescan in KK, it's still not showing up.

Update 2: After rebooting my machine, Pigments finally shows up in KK, including all the new v6 presets.

Yeah I agree but also to me the analog OSCS are just there to be layered and cross modded with the other OSCS, as you say if someone just wants pure VA use something else, Pigments is about mashing up all those different synth types and modulating them to heaven. It's called Pigments for a reason folks! Think of it as a palette with many colours to mix up. Don't just use one colour.
Exactly, I don't need Pigments to do the same things as Diva because I have Diva

Very interesting new synth module. I can't wait to check it out. Looks like a very Nifty physical modeling unit paired with granular features that are unique as far as I'm aware :tu:

To celebrate this release there is a 50% off flash sale on our Pigments stuff :hyper: banks

This is a good update, I am pleased with the $0 price (for me), and I appreciate the improvements Ive experienced so far. Sounds great (Ive been a fan of Pigments since version 2, and yes I own MassiveX, and I own dozens of others and a handful of HW synths). I have no idea what the "weirdness" is some people experience lol did you leave your channel strips on?

Pigments(6) sound signature is glorious, it is varied, and I have no idea why people need to follow their strange impulses to say (in this thread) that MassiveX is better. Ive been listening to people bashing on MassiveX on KVR for *years*, but whenever something else comes along that needs bashing, MassiveX sounds better? lmao okey dokey chokey.

I have 2 hours with Pigments 6 now, and years with 5, 4, 3. Sounds great, sounds as loud or soft or delicate or annoying as I need it to (check some of the preset packs from Arturia: some have poor sounds in them. Thats what you want, right? And then many have gorgeous sounds. Your choice lmao)

EDIT: it took me over an hour to get into the ASC and get this update. Their site seems to be unable to handle the influx on release day.

It appears loading times and overall UI responsiveness are better in this new version. I'm definitely looking forward to spending more time with the new engine.

I don't mind waiting for the ASC. There is a good chance that by the time it get finally in, I'll find v7 in the account :D

Looking forward to playing with this. Filter drive by the looks of it which is great. Have to be honest that physical modelling for me is often a bit tedious- better results usually obtained via use of deeply sampled real instruments. But to create realistic-ish timbres, can be fun. Not really interested in the vocoder either. But I'm sure I'll fiddle with Pigments again for a few weeks before just getting back to Phase Plant, Serum, and Current.

Can anyone explain what's changed with the granular engine?

I commented this earlier but it seems none of the people who are having trouble with ASC saw it: you can download the Pigments installer from the Arturia website. If you already have an authorized pigments 5 on your computer, you don't need anything but the installer

I think downloads is under Support, then Software & Manuals, or something to that effect.

None of that was working. For hours. I could hardly log in to ASC or the website.
