You got all that from the pixelated picture mud? You get clearer statements when you read the tea leaves.
Well they weren't wrong. Maybe they should play the lotto they'd be a millionaire.

Got this off of Reddit btw.

I know a Presonus programmer and was able to speak with him at Namm 2025 in Anaheim the other day. What he told me about what's coming in Studio One P7 mid-year left me speechless. It incorporates a SUNO developer engine for song composition (lyrics included) within the DAW but with 4 actual tracks of the track, ie, vocals, bass, keyboard and others will be composed directly separately, so you don't have to do the reverse process of the STEMS. He told me that the quality of each track when generating the 4 tracks you will not be able to believe how good it sounds. We will see in July 2025.
They really are aiming for the lowest common denomination if this is true. Do they have any idea of the backlash that will ensue? It'll be the death knell for Presonus, and nothing glorious about it.

Steinberg has already stated that they have zero intentions for adding AI to their products, which is the correct choice.

The world is changing and fast, either you adapt and jump into the current or you are out, SUNO sounds great and has hundreds of thousands if not millions of fans, why wouldn't Presonus have them? It would be called “PRESUNOS” ...buy popcorn for the summer, this rumor will keep you busy for version 7.5... just sayin'

Post

If that is true, then summer is going to be interesting indeed!
AI is very popular at the moment, and it is getting adopted to more and more (Photoshop already has AI tools etc).
If I understand correctly, stem separation is also done by some sort AI, so there is that.

dastewart wrote: Sun Feb 02, 2025 11:49 am Ah, ok, I think I see the problem. Once you've packed it to a folder then click on the drop down on the folder track and select "add bus channel". This adds a bus to the folder so the folder becomes the main bus for the impact instrument.
So, which button or icon you click to collapse the tracks in the mixer now?

You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

Yeah, that's weird because I have the folder icon on the "track 2" channel in the mixer and you don't.

I've had a play around and click the wrench/spanner icon in the mixer view (it's on the left of the mixer window) and make sure you have "link expansion and visibility of folder tracks" clicked.

Yes that was the cause! The folder icon appears now. Thank you :)

You're welcome. I really have no idea how Presonus expect people to work this out for themselves and it's a fairly standard thing anybody will want to do for multi-out instruments.

The very complex "workaround" mentioned above with combining multiple instruments isn't required any more but how would you know. It probably still comes up if you google it and, of course, Presonus have closed down their forums so the knowledge base has gone.

Sooner or later that information on forums gets dated. And the new Studio One forum is really promising & helpful.

I have installed the demo, and have not found a way to download the new synths. Are they included in the demo? Are they included in the version 7 perpetual update?

Idk. Go to your my.presonus.com Account, navigate to "additional content" of the v7 Demo (if there's one), and try to "claim" the instruments. Cannot tell, if this also applies to the demo version. That's the way to go for perpetual license users.

I have looked everywhere in my account, and I cannot find the instruments. The only thing I could "claim" was Splice. Thanks anyway.

No , it’s independent from presonus , it’s created by a former studio one forum user when the shutdown was announced .

Just don’t post anything negative about Studio One, and you’ll be just fine there.

That sounds like having to subscribe to something again. Just like Splice, you would have to pay for Suno AI.

What’s next? Studio One 8 with Autotune from Antares. But don’t forget to subscribe!

Has anyone actually thought about what will happen when the partnership between PreSonus and Splice eventually ends and, for some reason, doesn’t get renewed? Hmm.

Huh? I thought it wasn't a partnership, but an interface - similar to SoundCloud. To use Splice to its full extent, you have to take out your own subscription there.
