@uncle, is the boxed a real old school Boxed version? imprting from the US is sadly too expensive :/
Yes, old school boxed version. You can buy the download version directly from Spectrasonics.

I don't think so. It explicitly states that you need to have v1.
Note: You must already be a registered user of Omnisphere v1

i am from germany and 139€ is fantastic price, but i already have omnipjere v2 - but can it update to v3 ? They write update is for v1.....
You can't upgrade V2 to V2.
It is for V1 to V2.

So if you buy that one you will end up with a upgrade license that can't be used because you already have that version.

If you guys loved Eric Persing as much as I do you'd just buy the new non-upgrade version. That's what I'm going to do. I'm all about that maximum love!

Edit: Name typo, sheesh!

So, what your thoughts about Omnisphere Fxs? Seems that in version 3 they was update the quality. And maybe Fxs fack is a really good bonus and one of the reason to update version 2 to version 3.

They have great effects and it's a ridiculously comprehensive bundle of effects, both creative and studio mixing effects. I think it could replace just about any multi-effects suite.

What remains to be seen is how modulation will work in the fx rack. You can always modulate in daw if course but something like kilohearts modulation system makes their fx suite really appealing since you can stay in one window.

That said I do really love the fx in omni so I’ll deal with the limitations I’m sure, the new fx look great as well.

The FX are top notch just having them in stand alone form that can be run by itself and process anything is worth $199 to me without all the other upgrades

Especially the reverbs

I was planning to upgrade anyway, but I agree that the FX rack makes the upgrade cost an absolute bargain.

depends how you look at it i guess...don't they outsource most of the fx like NI so they are available for the most part elsewhere...a bunch are from nomad factory so it's like getting magma for free...since magma is listed at 120 then yeah...but most people got it in one of the typical 29 sales...people rave about innerspace, but that is just exotic impulse convolution from diego stocco...anyone could have always just bought his IR packs and run them in the convolution processor they already have...its definitely a value multiplier though when evaluating purchasing decisions as tassman, mx4, karmafx, rapid, hyperion and now serum have done...surprising really when you think about the money developers are leaving on the table

Perhaps if you don’t already have lots of good fx, but $199 for an upgrade certainly isn’t a bargain… it’s like upgrading a DAW level pricing. There’s some very nice additions but the core synth engine and UX hasn’t evolved a great deal in v3, outside of performance and a few extras.

Out of curiosity, I checked the price for new customers. $500. Just for Omni3. Also checked the online dealer here and saw the physical copy has the state tax added. (Which I suspected it would be.) That's only for certain states but their discount starts to disappear quickly with it. Been trying hard not to laugh, but the chuckling keeps sneaking out.

I was just about to post this. Good video. A couple notable things that weren't in the intro video:
- You can now activate multiple oscillator modes, such as unison, granular and harmonia. Pretty cool.
- The vibrato control on the global controls - I assumed this was a simple pitch vibrato but apparently it's more of a general modulation control for vibratos/tremolos or whatever kind of lfo type wobbles might be set up, including from effects.

I think the global section is really cool. Many of us have said we wish Omnisphere had the Trilian style macro page, but i think this is better. Consistent controls that very much mimic classic analog synths - filter, envelopes, basic lfo/vibrato and simple effects controls. I mentioned before that it would have been good to have some kind of osc control or balance but actually on the layers tab it's already, just 4 controls for for the oscillator levels, so that doesn't need additional global controls.

This would be great on a Novation SL mk1 or mk2, but according to the manual it looks like they only support the mk3 or something a large amount of controls.
