Is there much in the way of cinematic sound design type sounds similar to some of the extensions, or is it mostly classic synthy stuff?

Post

FYI - the Hydrasynth hardware support is pretty limited. Doesn't even pick up the filter knobs so going to switch to my Argon 8X as that seems to offer more compatibility.

Details were from here...

Edit: Great success!

The Scoring Electronic and Scoring Organic directories should be the home for that kind of thing.

IvyBirds wrote: Mon Oct 20, 2025 4:28 pm It's really not that hard any ownership of an Upgrade requires a base product that was not an upgrade
We are definitely lost in translation here. Maybe my initial post wasn't clear enough although I tried to make it as coherent as possible.

The plugin's value or worth is not relevant in this discussion.
I'm only asking for the right to transfer my product for whatever reason.
Nothing is lost you want to transfer the base product to another user, after buying an upgrade at a deep discount that depends on your ownership of the base product

So to recap any special upgrade pricing with Omnisphere and countless other software developers requires you to own a previous version. If you sell that previous version to another user that would mean the upgrade you got at a deep discount on, would no longer be an upgrade as you would no longer be the registered user of the original base product

So what exactly are you upgrading from when you buy Omnisphere 3?

I hope I didn't ask too early. :hihi: Thanks in advance.
Just got it downloaded and installed, and that was the first thing I checked

They sound identical

Good news!

If you can, would you mind checking what the experience of searching ALL or ALL Spectrasonics is like? Do you see any duplicate patches? Are there an awful lot of categories to choose from (ie both the new and all the old ones)?

Is this the first creator playthrough?

Does anyone know whether we need to archive the downloaded files ourselves, or if Spectrasonics permanently keeps a copy available in our user dashboard after buying Omnisphere 3?

Just purchased, download, and installed. Some random first thoughts in no particular order after a few minutes of use

1.)the new remastered presets sound really really good
2.)the new effects are AWESOME.
3.)Mutator is amazing. Using it there is no real need to browse presets you don't know. Just load a patch you like and mutate it and get another one similar to what you like
4.)Global Controls work great with both the Arturia Keylab and Novation Launch Control XL MK3

Post

Has anyone else's ratings from v2 disappeared after upgrading to v3?

I spent most of a weekend once rating my favourite sounds so may be a tad annoying having to go through that again.

So far I haven't seen any duplicate patches, I didn't really do a deep dive looking for them, or go through tens of thousands of them but nothing really stood out as a duplicate patch

Post

Can't see any duplicates in ALL/ALL but you will see the same presets twice in different categories e.g. a patch named "Eighties PWM" shows up under
Analog Vibes / Pads
but also under
Retro Vibes / Pads

Thanks to you and IvyBirds. That's very good news that they've filtered out these duplicates from ALL.

EDIT - how about those categories?

To answer my own question:
IMPORTANT NOTE: This download manager allows for ONE (1) complete download. Please be sure to backup your download on external media for additional installations

That's concerning!
