There's the Bitwig 6 Quick Guide... also the changelog mentions it IIRC.

Hello ere2learn, you've always been helpful, so here's a question for you: Can you please tell us what sample-rate and bit-depth the Master Recording feature records at? Does it record at 24-Bit or 32-Bit Floating Point? And is there an option to change it? Thank you.

The sample rate follows your project setting.

The bit-depth is decided by Settings/Recording/Created Audio - Recording Resolution.

Ok, I never thought that I would be asking a question like this, but here goes. Bitwig 6.1 is on Beta 3 and my annual upgrade is due. 1) Do I need to pay to be able to access the first non-beta release? 2) Should I even expect the first non-beta release to come during the next 12 months?

If your upgrade plan was valid for the beta on day 1 you get all 6.1 and 6.1xx releases even if your upgrade plan expires 1 day after the beta arrived without paying anything...

Just for 6.2 you would need a new active plan...
2) Should I even expect the first non-beta release to come during the next 12 months?
Normally beta phases go over about 3 month before the official release...
V6 beta was an exception because of huge changes...
Now 6.1 is a much smaller update nearly exclusive for the Sampler which shall bring the beta phase to it´s usual about 3 month period...

Great. Thanks. I'll hold off then and wait to see what 6.2 brings.

And guess what Bitwig has implemented once again a half baked controller script for the new arturia minilab 37 keyboard i recently bought. When i lock the transport buttons the encoders and sliders control nothing after that. Bitwig has really no love for getting their controller scripts straight an correct functioning. I am not going to sent a bug report because it will end in vacuum.

And Ableton and Cubase implemented keyboard script right works as it should.

I have noticed a annoying issue in the piano roll.

When you have made two individual recordings on the same track and you open the first part in the piano roll and choose select all in that part and do some changes to that part it will also make changes on the second part.

Sounds like the detail editor is in track mode? Change to "Clip" mode to edit just the one clip.

Use the Edit Only Selected Layers option (icon looks like a funnel)

It is just to vent my frustration here at KVR about Bitwig.

I have no clue why i do this, i have moved to Ableton for now which i would rather have not done because i love Bitwigs ideas as a DAW over Abletons ideas. But simply adding all the issues i have with Bitwig forces me to go to Ableton. Ableton with a lot of missing ideas from Bitwig is way more robust and stable developed product on my windows system.

I will stop complaining from now on, and leave you happy Bitwig guys. It simply does not help me complaining in a happy users group.

Thanks for trying to help Dionysos and pdxindy :)
The issue was that the Pianoroll was set to track mode instead of clip mode.

Not sure how that happened but it's all good now :tu:

hah now im also in Bitwig 6 (Bitwig 4 never used much in the past just because of time and using FL Studio still) and I'm really looking forward to the new Sampler official release, really also excited how the updates will be. The latest FL Studio updates were really not my cup of tea mostly so yeah I finally hit the nail and hope to have a good 2nd DAW to switch maybe fully soon.

anyways, about the MIDI issue I saw also this video from Mattias and didnt know (while still learning about Bitwig) this that you have CLIP and TRACK Piano Roll.

I mostly paint my notes but it seems kinda cumbersome, it would be great to have an option to always set which Piano Roll should be used first? so you can switch an option in the Settings "Always Use Mode" a) Clip b) Tracks

or am i missing something?

That is what threw me off since i always used clip mode so guess i might have clicked the track mode or hit a keyboard shortcut to enable it so i thought it was a bug of the V6 release :)

There is one way to do it.
Create a midi clip and open the clip in the pianoroll and delete the clip after you changed it and save it as a template that you use as a startup template and it will keep the option you selected :)

You can also use alt+t to toggle between clip or track mode when you are in the pianoroll :)
