Is BusCompressor the successor to Red Phat Pro, only phatter and less red?

That's great news about because it shows that the plugins are constantly improved, but I'm a bit baffled about a couple of decisions in this major upgrade:

1 - Backward compatibility breaking - why not just keeping che V2 as they are and add V3 so that they can work side by side? This way existing projects using V2 are unaffected... of course I'll keep V2 in case of need, but I'll have to switch them in my VST folder whenever I work with projects with different versions...

2 - The retirement of some plugins - again, why? They worked well AFAIK, and if they are to be replaced by something new and payware I don't see the problem - V2 freebies will always be available somewhere else, you know...

Thanks,
Mario

TimeMachine is part of (the paid) Track Essentials. you should have the key for it.

AH, I have mixed feelings :

- The new compressor plugin seems very good, and i like some additonal features on existing plugins (Pushtec curves in TBeQ, analog clipping in the bitcrusher...).
- But while i am very curious and thrilled to try the multiband feature in Barricade, i wish we could have kept the saturation knob.
- Some plugins vanished !? :-o I liked a lot the EZ compressor, and TB Hum Remover was quite unique afaik. EZ eq disappeared too, as well as TBmodule :?:

- I like the new GUI a lot on some plugins : the reverb, Ferox really got better with that new GUI.
-But for TBEQ and FLX4, i really like the dark GUI better...

Well, anyway, i am always glad to see some of my favourites plugins updated and improved, thank you Jeroen !

It's great that the plugins are beng actively updated but some changes are a step too far.

Breaking project compatibility and removing plugins from the bundle is a strange move and goes against good practices.

I also liked EZQ, where did it go? Also what gives with replacing saturation with a multiband control in Barricade? I would definitely like to know more about the processes under the hood and whether this is actually an improvement. Multiband is a dirty word to me whereas saturation really isn't.

In my opinion, if Jeroen is making such large changes to Reelbus and Barricade they should get a new plugin ID and work alongside previous versions.

Much as I would like to try the update it sounds like it will cause problems with existing projects to me.

These issues are really important and fundamental to any plugin updates. It seems that these plugins don't spend enough time in beta or should have a longer development cycle because adding features and then taking them away again is not very professional and shows that the plugin's concept and feature set was not thought out from the outset.

It would be nice to hear Jeroen's views on these issues.

I once thought I had mono for an entire year. It turned out I was just really bored...

Guys, something/someone prevents you from using V2 as they are ?

Just copy the key, add _V2 to the old dll/key - and you're good to go ! :)

It doesn't work that way with Audio Units on mac unfortunately.

Good advice for vst and PC users though.

I never used the Saturation because it just made everything "scratchy". The multiband feature seems to work a lot better, give a little "extra loud" but keeps things silky smooth. :)

The bus compressor is a work of art! Checking out the rest and I think these plugins are some of the best vitamins for my sound.

I have to say that I really like the new BusCompressor. It's extremely clean and awesome dynamics action, especially in upwards compression mode. In small doses it can be exactly what the doctor ordered. I'm afraid I'll have to purchase this even though I'm saturated with compressors.

It reminds me quite a bit of the TDR Feedback compressor in the way how it's an unashamedly clean digital compressor but I like the compression action of this one a bit more.. and it works in proper upwards compression mode. Very handy.

The radical changes to Barricade and leaving out some other plugins is quite a weird decision. I agree that these should be considered as new plugins and get new IDs instead. I think I'll stick with the old plugins for now and update Reelbus, FLX and get the new BusCompressor.

Cheers!
