That Shark Tank is super busy, different instruments, scales. articulations, rhythyms and tonalities.
A difficult challenge is to musically tell a story and sequentially introduce new elements without
making the previous ones obsolete. It takes musicianship and planning to pull it off. That punchy crunchy bass and rollicking drum play really glues things together, and the song structure doesn't leave the classic rock roots behind. I like the whistling glissandos with drums and guitars adding some fun rhythms and chord voicings for variety. Cool enjoyable energy, with some nice eastern sounding synth harmonies and melodic modulations, and congrats on your adventure among the giant creatures of the deep.
Cheers

The Found Today song sure has some interesting and unexpected harmonies, floating around and over the beat, and then sustaining guitar leads and synth pads transition to pluks followed by lead synths in various tonal and rhythmic modes, with distorted undulations along the way, and closing out with brash punchy synth beats. While the vocals are flowing through it all without conflict.
So much happens in your music in relatively short time frames! The process might make for an interesting video

This song is by way of Zebra2, perhaps good for purposes of reflection. So much rain here,
that there are plenty of hours to explore Zebra2, and think about what lies ahead.

Another song from the rainbelt, "Rivers In The Sky", using Hive 2 to celebrate what the weather gals and guys call "atmospheric rivers', which are refilling California's reservoirs, aquifers, and the giant old Tulare Lake, which was drained to provide quality farmland, and is now reforming apace.
Best listened to with moderate or low volume, to avoid ear fatigue, or brain malfunction.

At 3min:40sec in this video, you can see the massive snow issues in the California mountains are still
causing damage...at 10min:15 sec a large group of resort cabins are still completely buried,
typical of a very large area.

glokraw,
Thank you for the reviews! I was on vacation for a couple of weeks (with lousy internet), and that's why it took a while to return the favor. Now listening to "Rain Garden": it's definitely raining in this song! Sounds very nice and relaxing! "Rivers In The Sky": this one sounds more like it's snowing in my mind, but I rarely have seen it snowing in my life, so what do I know? Sounds more orchestral somehow. Very nice and relaxing also!

I put 2 songs in my music website: “What I Mean” (has plenty of Presswerk compression and some Repro-5 and non-u-he synths) is on top, and “You Have The Time” (has ZebraHZ and some non-u-he synths) is the next song down. Please tell me how you like the music and how it can be improved, and I will return the favor (leave me a link if it’s not recent). Here is my link:

In 'What I Mean', like how the solo notes start at an unexpected pitch, and then move back into more conventional space. The brief dropout is a nice lead-in to a solo, again avoiding cliche structure to draw in the listener. I love the guitar chords, powerful, crunchy, yet clean enough to differentiate the strings. Reminds me of bay area Quicksilver Messenger Service. The synth solo conclusion is very cool, and the dive to close things out was deep!
'You Have The Time' is full of surprises. The thundering bass/over organ and metalic taps are a nice build for the first solo. The second wah solo is also very fitting, a nice level of frenetic! The vocal melodies are delightful. I bet Rick Beato would enjoy this! (Tough crowd that he is...) I think a reprise of some of the earlier parts would be nice, such good songs deserve to be a little longer.
Well done! I must add the drums/percussion in your tracks really carry things along. I suppose some Presswerk magic gets them fired up.

I used two instances of Hive and an instance of Repro-5 for this one.

glokraw,
Thank you for the reviews! Now listening to "Last Night in the Jungle": some really cool sounds in this. Nice and relaxing song, per usual! Now listening to "Witness for the Prosecution": kind of trippy, yet still relaxing. I like both, though I prefer "Jungle".

I really like the film-score type energy. The new instruments arrive with good timing,TENETfanboy wrote: ↑Sun Apr 16, 2023 4:37 pm Used a lot of Zebra on this one

and the scene transitions are smooth. Not having seen any epic movie scenes in recent years,
I would expect and enjoy this quality at the movies, and Zebra certainly is put to good use!

'Last Night...' tries to describe the relief of one's realizing that they have escaped and survived, and will soon be safe. Based on a co-workers amazing journey to America.aaron aardvark wrote: ↑Tue Apr 18, 2023 4:23 am glokraw,

I'd forgotten how much I like 'Witness...' Is it OK to love your own music? If so, I'm deeply entrenched in that group. I credit the great coders and sound designers, who provide myriad ways to musically describe life. Witness For The Prosecution was Inspired by watching real witnesses in the court system on TV, helping take down some horrid evil people.
I hope 'trippy' is a growing genre
Cheers

I really enjoy the dissonance, melodic flow, and mood changes, they go so well with the instruments. Or maybe the other way round. Both and more is the best way many times. Very thought provoking and peaceful, and a long album version would be nice, IMNSHOKorg Supporter wrote: ↑Mon Apr 17, 2023 12:18 am I used two instances of Hive and an instance of Repro-5 for this one.

I appreciate the feedback! I think it is one of the best things I made so far (even if the high end frequencies need some EQing)! It took me 30 minutes to make, and I think simplicity and balance were the key to making it. I might use part of it for a soft/alternative rock type of song.glokraw wrote: ↑Wed Apr 19, 2023 1:53 amI really enjoy the dissonance, melodic flow, and mood changes, they go so well with the instruments. Just for the fun of it, I took that lovely chord at the end of the song, and added it to the beginning with a simple fade-in to the original first note. Making the nice ending more a reprise, than a sur_prise. I also lowered the volume a bit, as the high frequency seemed too loud over the rest of the song. I do enjoy tinkering with jewels, hope you don't mind.
