Yep, I was going to mention Hive 2 (it’s great!) but not close to the price of SM One.chk071 wrote: Thu Apr 29, 2021 5:20 pm Hive would be the obvious alternative. Just lacking in the "relatively cheap" requirement.
But then, there's nothing as cheap as Synthmaster.

So I presume Bulent must be waiting patiently for Urs to release Zebra 3. That would explain the long wait for SynthMaster 3...Teksonik wrote: Thu Apr 29, 2021 8:28 pmIt's more correct to say Synthmaster One is too much like Hive 2.zzz00m wrote: Thu Apr 29, 2021 6:29 pm Then I demoed Hive2, and decided it was too much like SynthMaster One to justify the price tag.
Urs wrote: Mon Jan 30, 2017 11:35 pmI take its layout as a compliment. Might show that Hive's UI concept is "just right"4damind wrote:Btw. for people where Hive has not awoken the interest, there is also the new Synthmaster One available since some days.![]()

Well are you really looking for a pure Virtual Analog (VA) synth or a Wavetable synth?
Based in the topic title a pure VA synth is not really an alternative for your synth (SM One), which uses both types of synthesis.
Alternatives for SM One implies that the use of Waveables is a requirement.

Well, I'm not looking for a VA, a digital sounding synth is good since i produce EDM.zzz00m wrote: Thu Apr 29, 2021 11:55 pm Well are you really looking for a pure Virtual Analog (VA) synth or a Wavetable synth?

I'm actually new to using wavetables, that's why i put it as optional, though having the option would be a very nice extra, but i saw ArcSyn has an option for wavetable osc, though I'm not sure how exactly it works in this particular synth.

I highly recommend ANA 2. Around $60.00 on sale. Va, wavetable, fm and samples. Really good Arp and chord generator. 2 filters. Solid fx. The GUI is for the most part one page. Right click modulation to just about everything. The sound is in the ballpark of Hive and SM.

I really like ArcSyn. It takes a bit of getting used to but it is a very capable synths with a really nice sound.ferez21 wrote: Thu Apr 29, 2021 11:17 pmWhat do you guys think of ArcSyn? I will try the demo tomorrow.
I also have and like ANA 2. It's CPU use is quite good for everything it has to offer. Probably less than half what Thorn would use for a similar patch.ferez21 wrote: Fri Apr 30, 2021 12:15 amThanks. I've also got Hive 2, HY-Poly, Vital and SM One. As well as that, I've tried a few of the other synths recommended here but if it was my money, I'd be going for ANA 2. It looks great, the workflow is good and it's sound is a cut above the others. If it's on sale at the moment, then all the more reason to grab it now. ArcSyn would be my second choice, although I think it is less versatile than the others.

Similar to SM and Hive. As BONES said. Really reasonable for what it does.ferez21 wrote: Fri Apr 30, 2021 12:15 amThanks. I've never tried Ana2 so I went to look at it. All I found was a monthly subscription. Is subscription the only possibility?ThePresent wrote: Fri Apr 30, 2021 12:16 pm I do not know the sound of ANA2 but it IS om sale right now.
