It reminds me quite a bit of the TDR Feedback compressor in the way how it's an unashamedly clean digital compressor but I like the compression action of this one a bit more...

The radical changes to Barricade and leaving out some other plugins is quite a weird decision.

Cheers!

Haven't tried the new BusCompressor yet.
I'm a BIG fan of the TDR offering so that is high praise bmanic, I must try it.

I'm not finding the changes to Barricade to be all that radical for me.
I hardly ever used the Saturation in v2.x
The new Multiband approach is cleaner to my ears.

v3 of Barricade and ReelBus and FLX are really nice, thanks Jeroen. :)

Jereon - I'm really enjoying the new Bus Compressor. Would it be hard (for you - not me :hihi: ) to put a variable stereo link on there if it wouldn't disturb the sound?

Maybe the code for the plugs was very different and/or not worth time/updating.

Good for me I didn't use the retired ones but I feel for the ones that did, kinda wrong move there, I would have been disappointed as well. :?
His stuff is constantly work in progress. I wouldn't be surprised to see more come out.

So many of his legacy plug-ins are great too. I never discard anything from him, even going back to his early stuff.

I'm surprised he never continued with Smash Pro. It could stand to be revamped with a better user interface because it's very complex, but it has amazing potential when you understand it.

Not much appears changed with the miraculous FLX plug-in but he did so much recent work on it that it wasn't necessary. I do like the new GUI better than the old one.

Nice to see this update. 8)

There are few changes under the hood as far as automation in Logic is concerned.
I had to redo some automation (Q and frequencies) that was no longer responding in the same way as it did with v2.x

Smash Pro could be as great as Flx, and Red Phat Pro is superb, too. But I won't ask (Jeroen) a third time if there is any chance of an improved, commercial version of Red Phat Pro as I won't get any answer anyway.

Is anyone else getting crackles with Reelbus (or any others) on mono tracks in Studio One? To reproduce:

1. Open a project
2. Load Reelbus on a mono track
3. Copy that Reelbus instance to one or more mono tracks

Result: Crackles on the subsequent Reelbus instances.

Switching the tracks to stereo seems to resolve the problem.

Note: the updated Reelbus sounds great.

I'll second that.

(If you third my second, it'll look like there's a bunch of us waiting red-faced for the update ) :D
perception: the stuff reality is made of.

So you're convinced this new Buss Comp is fundamentally different from Red Phatt?

On the renaming/updating etc idea: that may or may not work. Some hosts show the file name of the plugin (Cubase 7), some others use the string that a plugin provides to identify itself (Reaper), and some do or do not use the unique ID to discriminate between plugins with the same name (one or two may show up).

I think the only solid way is to change all v3 plugins consistently (file name, identifier string, and plugin ID) and re-release them as completely separate plugins so they can co-exist next to v2.x.

Exactly :)

This would be an ace move imho, everybody happy.
But it needs to be done as soon as possible so that new projects don't use the currently released V3 plugins (they would not automatically migrate to the ones with new IDs when/if you release them)

Thank you,
Mario

I hear you... The issue is so many ideas, so little time (remember, TB is just a spare-time activity, with just a hand full of hours to invest weekly, so focus and selection is key).

So, no GUI update for 2.9.1 plugins that were retired? :(

I think it makes perfect sense... they're officially legacy now...

Better focus on V3-V2 "divorce" imho :)
