However, when I do that I get the dialogue box saying that I need to install "a JDK", and offering the "More Info" button. Click that, and it takes me to the download I mentioned above. (Download Java for Mac OS X Recommended Version 8 Update 171 (filesize: 74.57 MB) ) For laughs, I reinstalled it again (the 3rd or 4th time now). It is on my system...I can bring up the Java control panel and it tells me I have the latest version and the browser test works....
Is there a different version I should install? I wonder if I'm only installing a web plugin for instance.
