Iron Pack 10 - Tortue Amour

Iron Pack #10 was created by field recording actual mating calls of a pair of rare giant Galapagos Tortoises at an animal sanctuary in Texas. These natural reptilian vocalizations were captured in great detail, yielding 4 dynamic layers and an average of 8 round-robin variations, edited and programmed it all into playable "tuned percussion" and looping sustain instruments. Next, various sound design techniques were used to resonate, stretch, warp and sculpt the raw source into an array of 33 unique musical ambiences, atmospheric textures, drones and pads. The organic turtle sounds are useful for monster sfx design, while the ambiences are designed for dark soundscape creation, dramatic underscoring, layering and building inventive melodic instruments.
