audiolatry has announced the release of Drum8, a free drum machine virtual instrument plugin for Windows and macOS.
Drum8 is a collaboration between audiolatry (software development) and Cool WAV (sound design). It features 40 kits for various music genres: Hip Hop, Trap, Pop, Lo-fi, EDM, etc. There are 320 sounds in total, including kicks, snares, claps, toms, hi-hats (closed & open), percussion, cymbals, fx, and more.
Drum8 has a compact interface with global controls (gain, lowpass filter, room reverb), individual controls per sample (gain, attack, pan, stereo channel output), and an 8-pad configuration. The samples are conveniently mapped from C1 to G1.
Drum8 is available as a VST/VST3 plugin for Windows and VST/VST3/AU plugin for macOS (El Capitan to Mojave, NOT compatible with Catalina and up).
