D16 Group has announced Devastor 2, a major new version of their Multiband Distortion Unit.
Along with new tag-based preset management system, alternative UI sizes and refined plug-in configuration, which comprises a new plug-in framework, D16 Group introduces a collection of new features as well:
- Signal Routing Selector, which replaces previous version's Pre / Post filter switches, giving more efficient control over processing path and at the same time offering some new signal topologies.
- Built-in Limiter - to prevent drastic changes in audio output's amplitude as well as to add some coloration to the sound.
- Redesigned Filter Model based upon more contemporary solutions giving them more analog-like behavior.
- Improved Dynamics Flattener, which delivers more accurate peaking detection with addition of punchier compression envelopes.
Devastor 2 is going to be released in VST, AU, AAX and Rack Extension plug-in formats.
Owners of SilverLine plug-ins will receive cross-grade offers, which also include free upgrades for Devastor licenses purchased in 6 months grace period.
