Initial Audio updates SourceLab to v2.2.0 - New Wavetable Designer

-
Initial Audio

Initial Audio has updated SourceLab to version 2.2.0. Highlight features for this update are a new wavetable designer and drawable filter with warp control.

Wavetable Designer

The wavetable designer uses a timeline based approach. Waveforms can be inserted anywhere in the timeline and then the user can set different morph types, the morph types are stackable for complex transitions. Morph types include algorithms such as FM, Sync, Snarl, overdrive. There are 12 in total to choose from.

Drawable Filter

The drawable filter is a filter that enables the user to drawn the filter response. It is a low CPU, zero latency filter that can be modulated in real time. This filter also has a warp control which compresses and stretches the drawn filter shape allowing for complex and unique filtering.

New Features:

  • New timeline based Wavetable designer. Different sections can have completely different morphing and stacks for fine tuned control over the direction of the wavetable. Drag and drop single cycle waveforms on the display or draw your own.
  • Added a Drawable filter, draw your own filter response and then stretch and compress it with the warp control.
  • Added 3 more SVF morph filter types.
  • Added option to "Create new skin" as well as "Edit Skin" to the Bank menu, making it easier to start a new skin from Scratch when Skins are available already.
  • Can now set the disabled key colour for the keyboard in the Skin designer.

Fixes:

  • Minor UI improvements.
  • Reading root notes from file names is now much more robust, could previously miss notes and then fall back to automatic pitch detection.
  • Exposed pitch wheel ranges on the Browser page for quicker access.
  • Fixed the Waveform drawing to better match the grid on odd grid values.

This is a free update for all existing SourceLab users.
