Niu plusplus has updated MidiPhrase to version 2.0.12.
New Features:
- Sticky notes.
- Four-part harmony range coloring (default is string quartet, customizable instrument ranges).
- Customizable composition background image in the piano window (preferably 4:3 aspect ratio).
Sticky Notes
When composing, placing a sticky note at key positions with essential descriptions, such as the type of instrument, technique, and scene description, is beneficial. Usually, a background image that matches the mood can evoke more nuanced feelings.
Four-Part Harmony Range Coloring
The voice part range color rendering switch in the piano window defaults to a string quartet, but the user can change it according to the different instruments used in the piece. For example, if you want to use an English horn or a soprano, you can modify the range of one of the parts to the range of the English horn or soprano. The "Reset to Default Range" button at the bottom will restore the range to that of a string quartet.
Customizable Composition Background Image
When studying and analyzing the works of other composers, or in your own compositions, the range of the instrument itself is an important aspect that composers should consider. Whether an instrument can produce a beautiful sound depends not only on the performer but also on whether the notes are within the instrument's ideal range.
